First of all, congratulations on getting off 105 lbs. What a great

milestone! Yes, I experienced plateaus at weights that I had been at

for years. The first one was at 185 lbs - the exact weight that I

stopped losing on phen/fen and maintained for about 2 years. With

the MGB, I stayed at 185 for about 3 weeks. Then, the latest

plateau was at 165 lbs. The same weight I struggled for decades to

maintain in my 20s/30s. That plateau lasted about 2 months. Then,

boom, all of a sudden I lost 7 lbs. in one month (my 13th month) -

best weight loss month since my 6th month. It's amazing!

Keep the faith.

That ABSOLUTELY sounds familiar to me. I've encountered at least a 2 week

plateau

each time I reach a weight that I was at for an extended length of time.

Eventually your

body will give in and you will start losing again. At least I hope so - I'm

4 pounds from

one of those " memorable " weights!

My first REAL Plateau

Well I knew after I lost 100lbs, I was gonna hit a plateau and sure

enough, I

have.

I had lost 105 on my five month anniversary, which was Aug. 8th. I

weighed

217lb. Well, last week I weighted the exactly same thing. So I waited

til

this week and weighed again on Tuesday. I weighed 220! OMG! I FREAKED!

Went BACK today and weighed and was 217lb. So nothing for like 3 weeks

nows.....bummer.

I just wanted to ask if when your body hit a comfortable weight for it if

that is where the worst plateaus are. See, I was like 210-220 for several

years. I kinda suspected when I hit it here my body would go " Hey I

remember

THIS weight well " and I think that may be what is happening.

Does that make sense or sound familiar to anyone?

STILL 217lbs.

Tonya,

Thanks...I just needed reassurance! LOL! If I never lose another lb. I still

am healthy and fairly happy with where I am...I can get around and do and

workout and wear clothes from WalMart...haha a cheap girls dream come true!

HEHEHEHEHE....but it is shocking when the scale just STOPS dead in it's

tracks.....if I KNEW this was all there is, I'd become content, but not

knowing makes you go " Hmmmm what am I doing wrong? " Ya know?

But for now I'll just say " Okay this ISN'T a bad weight body, so have a ball

here if you must! "

See? That was all I needed...to hear it is normal!! I KNEW it, but after

all the conversation of " I stopped at X months " came right when this plateau

came! So I just needed some reassurance, and all of you have done a

wonderful job of reminding me that this is just part of the process!

I am just gonna keep on keepin on and I'm sure that it will move again when

it's time. I have upped my walking and am building some leg muscles and

gonna concentrate on that and firming up, not the dumb scales!!!

HUGS and THANKS!

I have developed a very strange pattern. I basically only lose weight

one week out of the month. That week may be 4-5 pounds and the rest of

the weeks little if any. I've learned to get used to it. I have had a

couple of actual " plateaus " - they pass. Try not to obsess!

This is how I have been since the beginning. I lost 18 lbs the

first month, then 12... and so on. I've lost quite a few in the past

couple of weeks, but it would be at the end of my 5th month and

beginning of my 6 month. Usually, I only lose a few lbs that one week

too.

Yes, definitely!!! I kept thinking I would be stuck at certain

weights for a while, and I was. I never thought I'd get below 185,

'cause that's where I was for a few of my teen years. I'm now at

168!!!

Keep going , and hang in there. You're doing FANTASTIC and

your skin needs a chance to catch up. I haven't lost any weight in

a few months, and people are still commenting that I'm getting

smaller. I lose weight, and then I shrink. It does not happen at

the same time!

I just wanted to ask if when your body hit a comfortable weight for

, that is exactly how my loss is going .....except I am not

losing quite as much..about 2-3 pounds per month now..I notice

that I lose on the week I have my period and gain water on the

week before.

Also during my period I dump easy and I have little urge to eat. I

am sure it is a hormone doing this...... I wish I could have these

hormones all month!!!
