Trish, We have been talking about it and from what everyone on all the boards we belong to have said Dr DeMio is the go to man in Ohio. But we feel we have to get the siezure meds regulated 1st before we mess with the others meds or adding supplements. We fully trust Nureoglist and he has gone through the fire with us on the seizure issues. Getting that corrected med routine for the seizure has to be goal #1. We have talked to the Neruologist about biomedical treatment and he is not opposed to it. He did educate us that more and more research shows interaction between supplements and prescribed meds so he has asked that when we start this we take it as slowly as we always have when do med trails. Sometimes it can take several week before a reaction between drugs roars its ugly head. In the meantime I thank God daily for the blessings he has given . With all his DX he coul dbe

I agree -- seizures can be tricky things, and I understand wanting to get that taken care of first. Also, if your child is already on meds, there are certain ones that cannot be just discontinued -- the child has to be weaned off them, because serious complications (like heart rhythm problems, for instance) can arise. So, in my opinion, you are right to call the doctor tomorrow and ask for help. It's great to have a doctor you trust. That's half the battle right there!

Biomedical interventions are great. I have two children on the Spectrum and some of those interventions have shown a little improvement in one child (although, I must admit, it wasn't a perfect situation...we were doing other interventions, so it's hard to tell what was doing the trick...or perhaps it was all in combination), but absolutely no effect on the other. In fact, some biomed interventions we tried actually made that boy worse. You never know...it's hit and miss/trial and error. No two children with Autism are exactly alike, so no one treatment is going to work the same across the board.

I understand your trauma, as I seem to be constantly going through a med change with someone in my house! I hope you get some good answers from your doctor and some peace.
