Through the loving guidance of best-selling author Zukav and his spiritual partner Francis, I was contacted last February by filmmaker Teo Zagar (pronounced Tay-oh Zsa-gar) who expressed great interest in my then-forthcoming book, Autism and the God Connection. Specifically, Mr. Zagar is intrigued with translating my research into a documentary with love, reverence, and presumption of intellect as its themes; and the film rights to Autism and the God Connection are in the process of being optioned. Filming will transpire over the next one to two years. A portion of the proceeds from any commercial sale of the projected film are expected to be donated to an as-yet undetermined not-for-profit entity.

Mr. Zagar is best known for his award-winning documentary Mind Games: A Love Story, concerning Tom French, a brilliant young surgeon who develops ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, and undergoes a spiritual transformation; he remarries the woman he divorced, they have a daughter after being informed they could never conceive, and Tom determines to extend his life beyond the clinical deadline he'd been given. It's a breathtaking examination of the power of the human heart, and, sadly, Tom passed just an hour before the film premiered. In the end, Tom's physical condition presented not unlike autism though his intellect was intact, and he could communicate through assistive technology.

At this time, we are actively soliciting persons on the autism spectrum, parents and professionals who are willing to tell their true stories of spiritual giftedness on camera. Special interest is for those individuals who are already included in the book Autism and the God Connection, but all are welcome to petition us for inclusion. Specifically, we are seeking anecdotes involving any of the areas pertaining to a spiritual connection, as outlined in the Autism and the God Connection section of my website. Mr. Zagar has also generously offered to send a DVD copy of Mind Games to persons who are selected to participate in the documentary, or those wish to consider it further.

I am also composing the manuscript to a follow-up volume, and am very interested in taking the concepts in Autism and the God Connection to the next level.
