Any suggestions anyone? Joni Seattle 12/22/01 231/
Guest guest
Dear Joni, I am coining a new " syndrome " . It's called ERS : Exercise Resistance Syndrome. And I have a very serious case of it!! What I do notice, though, is that exercise gets the weight loss going again when I really do it, and I feel good as well. Now that winter is gone, I've begun bike riding. When I go 4-5 miles, or even more, I work up a sweat, cause the sensation of " burn " in the large muscles of my legs, and a couple days later, boom, down I'll go another pound or two. I am a slow loser as well. Always have been. I plateau for 5-10 days, at the least, everytime I lose a couple pounds. And I need to exercise to keep my body awake and involved in this process. Otherwise, she (my body) just gets real comfy with the status quo and holds on to everything. So, my suggestion would be, join a gym. Don't let the rain interfere with your progress. We really only have the 18 months (when almost all the weight will be lost), so I feel we shouldn't waste the opportunity. I love your attitude and your posts. Keep up the good work, Warmest regards, PhillyJude

Guest guest
, I am 49 lbs down at 8 months. I have tried everything that everyone suggests. My latest is to try very hard to drink " lots " of water. I'll try that and see if I can break my 3 month plateau. You are not alone and I do not know the answer. Just keep trying to speed up your metabolism and drink water, water, water. If that doesn't work for me, I don't know what to do. Dinah in AL mgb 081600 291/242 > Hello! > > I had my MGB on 11/17/00. Guest guest
Dinah!! First, thank you for responding. Do you think that maybe the problem may lie with that we were in a basically " low range " with our beginning weight? I am 5' 4.5 " tall with a large frame. I do hope that may be part of the answer. I'll try the water. Maybe the exercise will increase my metabolism also. I have not given up hope that eventually, we will lose the weight. Keep in touch!! Guest guest
Folks, Listen, You are losing weight whether it is a slow loss or a fast loss, you are losing weight. It's something many of us have not been able to do for a long time. I have an average of 8-10 pounds weight loss/month. Yes, I think that is slow, but I'm losing weight. I even went 2 months and didn't lose anything. For those who have and are experiencing " slow " weight loss, I feel your pain and understand your frustration. I wanted to have lost as much as some of the folks that had surgery the same time that I did....OH, WELL! I've still lost 93 pounds. That's a tremendous amount of weight. That's my two nieces! I've lost 2 small people. Put your loss into perspective. YOU'RE LOSING WEIGHT! Celebrate and enjoy it! Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Don't worry, I still do it. I found myself being jealous because Lynn Rembert has lost 109 pounds and she had surgery several months after I did! We had a good laugh about it and discussed how happy we were now and how much better we were already feeling. It's these things that we have to think about when we are feeling frustrated because the scales won't budge as fast as we want them to move. Take care everyone and enjoy the loss that you have. More will come off in it's own good time. Remember to eat enough. Those elves won't work for nothing. They like to have their fire hot to keep them warm and working hard at burning those calories. Just my 2 cents worth (all we got left after the darn dog)! LMAO in SC

Guest guest
Hi Danae, As you know this is pretty normal. And I don't have to tell you it is about calories in and calories out. When I was getting close to my goal, I had to step up the exercise and that helped a lot. I went for weeks like you sometime towards the end without a weight loss and wouldn't lose anything--and I knew I was doing everything right. I am one who still to this day weighs myself every morning. That is just me, I get up put of bed and weigh myself. I never want to get where I do not have control over the weight loss. So you are right on track, and you know that it will come off, it takes time--and when we see others losing faster than us we tend to doubt what we are doing--that is normal. Congratulations on your weight loss, I am sure you feel and notice that 44 pounds is a LOT of weight to lose. Hugs, Suzanne In a message dated 3/28/2011 12:20:26 P.M.
