Guest guest
Hi Tammy! Welcome to the group! I've been a member since early Feb and I am loving it! The support here is amazing. You'll fit right in. Losing weight to have a baby is a wonderful motivator! (HUGS)
Guest guest
>Hey girls! I just noticed that I joined this group awhile ago Welcome, Tammy (Hmm, we have 3 Tammy's now?) >.. sprained ancle, having my gall bladder removed, You've been busy! >I am down 20 lbs since then and I wish that were tripled.. Heck, even a one pound loss with all that is great! >My husband and I would like to try for our first baby this summer.. Looks like you have a few fun months ahead planned. ;^) >August to be exact and I would like to lose at least 40 lbs before we start to try. Hmmm, that's 2.5 pounds a week for 16 weeks - do-able, *but* it would take a *lot* of hard work on your part, such as a low calorie diet and loads of exercise, then pray you don't hit a plateau (Although *everyone* does as your body adapts to a new lower weight). A slower weight loss, aim for 1-2 pounds a week, is healthier and won't shock your body into starvation mode and will be easier to keep off. >really need help to stay motivated Heck, paste pictures of babies around the house! If that isn't enough motivation I don't know what is! Because of your gall bladder surgery you're probably already on fat restrictions. Do you have a specific food plan to follow? Does your doctor know you want to lose weight, and if so, what does he recommend you do to achieve that goal? Like many of us here recommend, start with those baby steps. Drink your water - work up to a half ounce for every pound of body weight. Keep a food journal, and be sure to make down your circumstances & emotions surrounding that food - Were you hungry or just bored? Did the food do what you wanted it to do? Do you find yourself craving certain foods at certain times? Plan your menus at least a few days ahead of time, and be sure to include your snacks (Your food journal will show you when you usually snack), and shop for all these items ahead of time so you don't find yourself reaching for the fast food just because you don't have the right ingredients for your planned dinner. With a little planning and a lot of perseverance you'll be lighter so you can start gaining those baby pounds in August. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
Welcome Tammy!! Good luck on the weightloss! Hey everyone! Hey girls! I just noticed that I joined this group awhile ago but I don't think I ever posted. So I will introduce myself now. I am Tammy 25 from PA. I am married to a wonderful man Dave. I have been working on losing weight since last February but with many things holding me back.. sprained ancle, having my gall bladder removed, etc.. I haven't done as well as I would have liked by now. I am down 20 lbs since then and I wish that were tripled.. but nothing I can do about that now. My surgeon has said I can go back to Curves tomorrow so I am really going to get moving. My husband and I would like to try for our first baby this summer.. August to be exact and I would like to lose at least 40 lbs before we start to try. I really need help to stay motivated and it looks like I can get that help here! I can't wait to get to know you all! Tammy " I eat only when I am truly hungry and I never eat for any reason other than true physical hunger. Guest guest
-Tammy: congratulations on your great weight loss!! I haven't done as well as I would have liked by now. I am down > 20 lbs since then and I wish that were tripled.. <<<<<<<<< One thing I like about this group is the emphasis on what you HAVE accomplished, not how much you have not accomplished. I, for one have not lost twenty pounds , so that sounds fantastic to me!!! My husband and I would > like to try for our first baby this summer.. Guest guest
>......even i cannot plan a kid unless l lose atleast around 50 lbs and i have just abt started Ladies, it's *very* possible to get pregnant - and have a healthy pregnancy - while fat! Millions of women have been doing it for eons! Yes, you still have to eat a healthy, balanced diet and get some exercise in, but even thin pregnant women have to do that. And there are a number of mailing lists and web sites out there where you can converse with *other* large pregnant women who are happy and healthy. My point is, don't put your life on " hold " until you hit some magic number on a scale. Sue in NJ who got pregnant at 220 pounds
Guest guest
your point is well taken sue but i personally think an unhealthy body is not fit to nuture a healthy baby (talkin abt pregnancy) it will only lead to tooo many more comlications which can be avoided by shedding those kilos Gowri --- Sue in NJ <susang@...> wrote: > >......even i cannot plan a kid unless l lose > atleast around 50 lbs and i > have just abt started > > Ladies, it's *very* possible to get pregnant - and > have a healthy > pregnancy - while fat! Guest guest
Welcome Tammy – you’ll love it here! You have a goal of 40 by August that could be done – what less than 6 pounds a month, especially with a supportive hubby J From: daveandtammy2002 [mailto:daveandtammy2002@...] Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2005 9:43 AM 100-plus Subject: Hey everyone! Guest guest
I had my surgery a year and a half ago. I have really bad pain in my right ear (the ear which had the surgery). I go in for a check up and this is the first time ive been back to the doctor since my surgery, does anyone still have pain in there ear after so long? It just sucks because i go to non-ENT doctors and they prescribe me Meloxycam and it doesnt help and they wont give me anything strong for my head pain should i ask my ENT for pain killers?
