wow, I am sorry you all are dealing with this at such a young age. I

wonder if it is congenital or acquired as I haven't heard of a

congenital being diagnosed that early. I am so glad you have a doctor

who is on the ball. Has your daughter had a lot of ear infections?

I would think that dealing with the surgery at that age wouldn't be

too terrible for your daughter, but harder on you! (that's how I felt

when my then 5 year old had surgery...he did great, I was sort of a

wreck). She'll be able to rest the few days after and be back to her

old self in no time.

I hope things go well.

Thank you. From what the ear specialist had said, it

is very rare to have found it at her age. He praised

our pediatricians for finding it so soon. She had a

lot of ear infections last winter, but once it got

warm, she didn't have any more until recently. I think

maybe she was born with it or all the ear infections

last winter could have caused it from what I read thus

far online. I hope the surgery will be relatively

simple since it appears to be small, but they may do a

CT scan to make sure it is not larger than they see.
