I have three children, two of whom have c-toma,my oldest daniel

twelve, had his op to remove it although the disease was removed the

rebuilt eardrum failed and he has to have another op.my youngest

jack who is six goes into hospital on the twenty eighth of nov 2003

to have his c,toma removed and new ear drum etc,my question to any

one with similar experiences is how well there child dealt with the

procedure, was it sucessful and did they retain there hearing in part

or fully,as an ex serviceman and now a firefighter i fear that

similar avenues will be closed to him if his hearing is permanantly

impaired. Also i would love to hear from anybody who has experience

of prosthetics in younger kids if it even is an option in inner ear

bone damage.thanks for listening,a concerned dad.
