Guest guest
I was very nervous just prior to my surgery also. I have a followup with the doc tomorrow I am hoping to be released to more than soft foods soon. We celebrated my wifes birthday today. I used to avoid these types of occasions since eating was so difficult. It was a real treat to join the rest of the family at the table. Hang in there. I will pray for you and for what it is worth, know that I am thinking of you. > > > > > > Hi Don, > > > > > > Thanks for letting us know your date of surgery. Guest guest
Congratulations with your wive Don! I know what you meant by avoiding birthdays or those occasions. Last sunday I had to visit my friend's birthday, by time they gott the bbq at his place I was out of there! How was your appointment with the doc? Are you allowed to eat more other food? Thanks for your support, I appreciate it! > > > > > > > > Hi Don, > > > > > > > > Thanks for letting us know your date of surgery. Guest guest
Good for you Maniko, Slowly is the way to go. It is worth the effort and patience to give your insides the chance to heal. It's quite a long process and not one that happens overnight. If you take good care of yourself, no lifting, plenty of rest and very mushy stuff, in a few weeks you will be having a normal meal and feeling very good about what you and your Surgeon have achieved together. I like your attitude, particularly how you realise the big part that you have to play in this. Good Luck to you, and love from Ann in England. XX From: beach.maniko <5beachbums@...> Subject: My Surgery achalasia Date: Sunday, 1 March, 2009, 12:19 AM After I got the results from my manometry... conclusive diagnosis of " A " I just went ahead with the surgery. I had it on Weds. have been home since Thurs. nite and have had soups. No spasms but my stomach and intenstines are getting a workout. I need to take it slow. I didn't realize how dehydrated and malnourished I had become because the IV made me realize how little I was peeing. It was painful but not much more than having kids. Looking forward to eating again but to tell you the truth considering how uncomfortable and painful it has been, I will tread slowly. Will let you know how things go as time and new foods are introduced. Maniko
Guest guest
Hi All: I am going in to have surgery Aug 27th. I am having the CWD with a skull wall reconstruction, this is when the cholesteotoma has eroded most of the mastoid bone. The cholesteotoma seems to be sitting on the bottom of my skull dura. I asked them to see if I can stay over night. Has anyone every experience this? I appreciate any feedback.
