Trish, you don't need a script from any dr for the Emla cream, is available at any kid's drugstore.

Hi Jane, Before you get bloodwork done, get a prescription for EMLA CREAM from Dr. DeMio. It is a numbing cream that you can apply 30 minutes before a blood draw. It is fine if it goes over the 30 min., as it supposedly works for awhile. I put it on both arms. Also, ask him for a list of kid friendly labs is your area. We go to Hillcrest Hospital, but I'm sure there is one much closer to you. They should only use small butterfly type needles. Noah was totally traumatized by 2 very mean ladies who held him down (he was only 3!) and attacked him with a huge adult sized needle. They couldn't find a vein, so they poked the other arm, moving the needle around in there. Meanwhile, I'm holding onto him for dear life, while my dd held his arm... she was crying for him! THEN the younger B**** had the nerve to roll he eyes and say "He's really bad!!!" Well, THAT about ruined him for life. However, with a kind experienced staff and a little help with "Ms. EMLA", Noah goes in, sits in the chair, tells them which arm to use and then tells them what color bandage he wants. He says "Thanks, and Bye!" and goes on his way. It took a few times for him to realize that he wasn't going to be attacked and hurt, but he's fine with it now. When you have to go in every 2-3 months, there really has to be a better way. And there is!!!! Good Luck. Chelation Rocks!!!! -Trish>I have to get some bloodwork done - which I am dreading because >every time we go to the doc tells me "no blood shots, >right?"> Jane

I didn't realize that. Dr. DeMio wrote it on a Rx paper (probably so

I would know what to ask for) and I just took it to Walgreen's

Pharmacy. They filled it for me, so I just assumed it was a Rx.

Thanks for letting me know. I won't have to call for a re-

fill.
