Guest guest
I could not tell if your son has had his checkup yet as I've lost track of dates but I hope everything goes well and he is as good as new. Teenager's can be very resilient but also it is very hard on them too. Did your Otologist go through the ear canal or make an incision behind again? Micah's Dr. would not go through the ear canal as we had hoped but made the incision behind again. My son has only the stapes footplate left so hopefully this TORP will work. Wishing you the very best, Audrey
Guest guest
Hi Audrey, The doctor had to go behind the ear, hopefully for the last time. He lost all his ossciles(sp) four years ago but in the surgery this time, he put in a titanium torp and a graft for the ear drum. He had his second post op appt on Tues and the doctor removed the plug and some packing and Dan saids that he is hearing out of that ear. He is very excited. He also had his canal widened a lot. He has healed quickly this time. Last time he had an allergic reaction to the stiches. He is such a trooper!! Hope things are well with Micah. Keep us updated about how the torp is working. It took Dan about 2 1/2 weeks to see improvement.] Best Regards Gus Re: Update on surgery in Nashville( for Gus) I could not tell if your son has had his checkup yet as I've lost track of dates but I hope everything goes well and he is as good as new.
