Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just a question, I woke up with my ear hurting more this morning. I felt really run down as well. Just returned to work on Monday. I stayed home some of the morning and then set off for work. I had a holiday luncheon. I ended up leaving early because the noise was just way to much and my ear was hurting and realllllllllyyyyyyyy ringing loudly. I came home and took a nap and feel a little better now. My ear is still ringing, but not any more than normal since surgery. So now the question: do you find yourselves extra sensitive to air pressure post surgery? We had a big rain storm move through today and I'm wondering if this is why my ear hurts. Also, has anyone else found noise to be so bothersome? I still have packing in my right ear, although I hear my fingers snapping if I turn off my hearing aid in the my left ear and snap outside my right ear. Since surgery, noise has sent my ears buzzing and ringing. The buzzing has subsided a lot. It was really annoying for me to talk for the first 4 or 5 days post surgery. That really made my ear " vibrate " and then buzz and ring. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas. Connie
Guest guest
Hello Connie.HECK YA! My ears hurt soooo bad sometimes from the air pressure I feel like my head will POP off! It is unbearable.. I live in the North Georiga Mountians and I tell you I know when a storm is coming before the Weather man does! The best thing I can tell you to do is NOSE sprays! It helps alot keeps your eustachian tubes open...and pop your ears as much as you can! GOOD LUCK na
Guest guest
Hi Connie, I had [have] the same kind of problems that you describe. The way my surgeon put it to me when I asked for possible reasons for the noticeable increase in noise (tinnitus) post operation, was that damage is invariably caused to nerves in the " drilling out " process during the operation. Sometimes the noise disappear in time, other people aren't so lucky. I see you were 13 days post operation when you made your posting. I don't know what kind of an op you had, but two weeks is classed as 'early days' from cholesteatoma surgery. Again, quoting directly from the words of my surgeon, a full recovery should not be expected until 3 months have elapsed from the operation date. Hang on in there; you'll make out in the end I'm sure. Best regards, > Hi Everyone, > > Just a question, I woke up with my ear hurting more this morning. I > felt really run down as well.
