Guest guest
Hi Guys.. I had my 2 week follow up Post OP yesterday for my surgery which was Removal of Cholosteatoma with Myringoplasty and OCR. All the packing has now been removed and everything seems to be in great working order. While I was there I was explaining to my specialist that my ears keep on popping and I can hear from the operated ear, so he thought he may as well do a hearing test while he was there... After testing my operated ear (which remember was only 2 weeks ago) they found that my hearing decibels is 30dcb at this point, and there is still dissolvable gel in my ear. Prior to the surgery it was approx 50db... The doctor was most impressed but more so I nearly collapsed from shock. It's a nice christmas present to be hear news like that... Since my surgery I have been feeling great, my tinnitus is down (for now anyway, but who knows), I feel clear headed, I'm more confident with my hearing.... Anyway, I thought I would share it with the people who understand me most. Friends and Family do care, but sometimes it's hard to feel what sufferers of this disease feel... Merry Christmas to you all and please remain strong no matter how difficult obstacles may appear to be. Having been diagnosed almost 2 years ago in both ear, 2 surgeries and recovery I am stronger today than what I was 2 years ago. Reality is I may have to fight this again, but like I've said in the past I'm all for putting up a fight... For those having surgery in the near future, i'll be thinking of you and will say prayer... Merry Christmas Guys.... Cheers Nick (The Australian Down Under) PS... Dont mean to rub it in, but it's absolutely HOT HOT HOT in Melbourne, 38 degrees celcius to be exact....
