Some more Questions Regarding Surgery

Hi Melody

You don’t need to pay anything at all for your

surgery. If you are having surgery that requires an overnight stay and

you want a private room, then you will have to pay extra for that.

However that is usually covered if you have extended medical. You should be

asked to fill out forms regarding that before your surgery. You will also have

to pay for your own prescriptions, but again they may be covered by your extended

medical plan. The only prescription that I find that is not covered for

some reason is the Cipro drops.

As long as your medical coverage is up to date you are not

required to pay for anything else. I have had 2 c-toma surgeries in the last

few years and I recently had surgery for breast cancer, and everything was

covered by medical.

As for travel costs and such, you would have to check with

your extended plan. That type of thing would not be covered under BC

medical.

Good luck with your surgery.
