Guest guest
Hi Thema, Sounds like your audiologist wasn't a ertified ci audiologist. Many of them aren't educated as to what makes you a candidate. You go for that evaluation, THEN let us know what is said. I'll be rooting for you that you are a candidate. Absolutely and without a doubt my ci sounds a whole world better than my hearing aids did! When you have your evaluation, they may tell you they want you to try other hearing aids although they didn't with me as my hearing was too far gone:) When is the evaluation? Please keep us informed.. I'll be anxious to know what the ci audiologist says! Guest guest
Thelma, I'm glad the audiologist referred you to a full CI evaluation as this is where you will get your real answers. A regular audiologist is not aware of the critera and very often they are not aware that a patient would qualify. This is an awareness issue that we need to begin to focus on because many people would take the first " no " for an answer. I'm glad you advocated for yourself so you can get the proper testing. Now..the next time you go to Honolulu - could you pack me in your suitcase? <smile> Alice N24 11/99 N24C 04/03 Bilateral
Guest guest
It's likely that an audiologist did your hearing test at the ENT's office. They should be able to give you a copy of your most recent hearing test results in order to get a hearing aid. If it's been six months though ... you should probably get it done again anyway. Guest guest
A tube might still be helpful if your eardrum retracts since that can cause new ctoma. Chloe has a tube and hearing aid, and that doesn't seem to be a problem. On 3/19/09,
