Hello!My name is Maynard. I am a graduate student in ClinicalRehabilitation Psychology at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am currently recruiting parents andcaregivers of children who have recently been diagnosed with autism,Asperger's disorder, or PDD-NOS to complete a survey. I found your contact information through the ASA website and was wondering if you would be willing to pass the information below on to interested families. Thank you in advance for your help, please do not hesitate to let me know if you have questions. Caregiver Study Information:You are invited to participate in a research study looking at the short-andlong-term effects of receiving a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder(ASD) in one's child. With your help, we can learn more about the processfamilies go through to get a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder fortheir child as well as better understand the different variables that canhelp a person adapt to his or her situation.If you choose to participate, you will complete a survey packet now andagain one year from now. The packet should take approximately 40 minutes tocomplete. You will receive a $10 Wal-Mart gift card after completing eachsurvey packet.
