Guest guest
I had my c-toma surgery a year ago and my ear still doesn't feel completely normal! But it doesn't feel like 'pins and needles' anymore and it probably stopped about 2 or 3 months atfer the surgery. I couldn't wait to sleep on that ear (isn't the always the way!)but I waited until it was healed on the outside. > Hi everyone, > > My left ear is still sore to touch. Guest guest
Hello Adina ~ I had my first surgery on November 4th, 2003. The doc told me to not sleep flat for a few days afterwards so I decided to sleep on my reclining couch (worked great for a week) due to fear of rolling on that ear. I knew that sleep would help a great deal when recovering from an operation. Anyway, after two and a half weeks of sleeping like this (I had problems with the backside of my ear which is finally healing now)I ended up with a really bad stiff neck. I thought, just great. Once I returned back to work I was discussing this with one of my co-wokers. The next day she brought in a travel pillow which I took home and used that night and have used every night since. I works just great. I then purchased two of them for myself. I pasted the url below. I do not have a Cracker Barrel in my area so ordered it on-line. It really works great. You can form the pillow to what is comfortable and the ear fits in the middle and doesn't touch any pillows. You may want to give it a try. It was well worth the money for me! http://shop.crackerbarrel.com/online/shopping/Category.asp?cat% 5Fid=47 & mscssid=32NLTWPFGH5B9J3NP125UWB6VF9E1JLC As for the pins and needles ~ I think I am finally through with that but now am dealing with stabbing pains. I think that the cold weather we have been having has much to do with it though. Goes right through the head coverings. Good Luck Lori

Guest guest
Hi Adina, I didn't sleep on the operated ear for quite some time because it hurt too much to do it. And when I finally started to I would sleep with my hand supporting my face around my ear so I wouldn't put so much weight on it. I didn't think, and still don't, that it would harm or impeed the healing process. Hope you arn't on " pins and needles " long!
