Well.... I guess I wait:(

I had my follow up appointment on Wednesday- frustrating to say the least, I

think that I posted- the receptionist said secretary never put my appointment

through and that they would have to " squeeze " me in @ 8am, I got there on time

and hand my book FULL of questions ready.

Docs office was busy already, eek!

I suppose with him only being the " acting " ENT of our town and actually a

plastic surgeon that these people were there for some cosmetic issues and not

because they were in pain everyday! Sorry, I have to say I am a bit bitter!

Dr. Filatov was wonderful though, I said that I had a million questions to ask

and he said, go ahead! So I asked first if I would have the surgery preformed in

the town I live in (according to my aunt who works @ Mt. Cyanide in Toronto- a

small " hick " town- thanks aunty!)and if he was going to be the doc preforming

the surgery- after reading up on medical terms I realized that he is only an

Otolaryngology - He did say that " yes, I could have the surgery here and yes, he

could do the surgery " I thought hmmm.. ok. And kept asking questions- how much

bone deterrioration (sp?) has the ctoma gone into my middle ear, does my ct scan

show anything! LOL- he answered these all slowly saying that he cant see too

much bone errosion. Really writing this now makes me think, do you know

anything?

But, he said that he could preform the surgery here but that he worries that he

wont be able to have me leave the surgery with as much hearing as I do now... So

i suppose hes saying that I have " ok " hearing now and if he does the surgery he

cant gaurantee that I will have as much?

Said that he would rather refer me to another doctor who specializing in

otology, Dr.- North Vancoucver (over 8 hours away from my hometown:( Said

that Dr. D does only ears- but that I will have a bit of a wait as he deals with

all kinds of things- cancer yadda yadda, and that I will hear from him in about

a month. And that my consultation SHOULD be before Christmas!

SO! As of now, I dont have a doctor, I am in pain everyday, I dont know how I am

going to be able to go down to Vancouver multiple times to see Dr. D-

AGRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH- sorry! I needed that:)

Signing off for now, Very unsure about what to do and almost 100% agreeing with

my aunt who said if I didnt live in such a small hick town that something would

have been done sooner and that this is serious and needs to be dealt with ASAP..

now if I could just get a doc who would agree?

Take care everyone, sorry to be so bitter about my case, I have to say that I

have been reading daily on everyone else's case and it gives me hope, thank you.

One postive- The town I live in started a program called the Northern Health

Authority Bus and this bus ONLY travels between here and Vancouver, SO as long

as I am eligible and can figure out who I need to talk to and how much it costs-

my ride down there should be ok, by myself:(

Have to get ahold of Medical and see if I am covered for any of this (DOES

ANYONE LIVE IN CANADA AND HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT OUR MEDICAL SYSTEM- I AM QUITE

UNSURE AND WOULDNT MIND SOMEONE WHO KNEW SOMETHING CONTACTING ME!!!)

Then must make sure that I have coverage through work or unemployment in order

to take anytime off work!

And the battle begins!
