Guest guest
I was just diagnosed with Cholesteatoma in my left ear this past week. I would say I have had the symptoms of excess wax and drainage on and off for the past 10 years (I am 35), although was never told about the seriousness of this condition by my doctors and it was never given a name. Sometimes I experience an off balance effect when I walk past a loud speaker, but it will last only as long as I walk past it. Also, I get a bit of a spinning effect if I push on the ear canal, causing pressure in the ear. It never really bothered me at all beyond that and some drainage now and again after a cold, etc but now I am having drainage almost every night. Having this condition for as long as I have causes me to be very concerned as I can't imagine it being anything other than advanced cholesteatoma. I have no idea what to expect. I am getting a CT scan tomorrow and will look up an Otologist in the area to get a second opinion besides my ENT. I will post my results as soon as I know. ly I am less concerned about my hearing in that ear than I am about the more advanced complications. Anyone else have a similar situation? Suggestions? Some reassurance? I am pretty terrified at this point. , Colorado
