Guest guest
Hi, I am also in NSW and my 7 yo sons CTOMA was removed last November. So, we are 8 months post op. If you haven't, please contact Australian Hearing. My son has a hearing aid provided free by the government through them. It has helped immensely with his hearing until the reconstruction can be completed. My son has a moderate hearing loss in his right ear. I can tell when he is wearing the aid and when he turns it off! It also helps at school. There is also a group for parents of children with a unilateral hearing loss. It is on the Aussie Deaf kids site. Also, there is a POD (Parents of deaf kids) group that is based in Lismore. I attend a group in Sydney. There is some great information to be gained from these groups. Good luck wit it. My son is doing extremely well now and can't wait for this 'superhero' bones.
