Guest guest
Thanks Celia, I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so I think that has helped with my recovery. I was once hiking in the mountains and fell fifteen feet and had to crawl down the mountain until I found someone to help me and I had a broken back. So I try to be tough. I just know if I didn't start going to the gym immediately, I would keep finding excuses to put it off. Plus I want to maximize my weight loss during the liquid diet part and the mushie part to give myself a great head start on losing. I hope you are able to go to the gym again soon, and that you are feeling better. Keep me posted since we had ours so close together, please feel free to email me directly if you would like. You know my daughter's name is Amelia, sounds like Celia > > > > Well I am one week and one day post op. Guest guest
Sounds like your doc is doing the right thhing. And even if not many get any inflamation around the incisions, that doesn't mean anything bad about your doc. Who and where did your banding? I can't imagine that any doc would do other than give you an appropriate antibiotic for an infection there. It isn't common, but it happens. I didn't have that problem, but got aspiration pneumonia. My problem, nothing with the doctor. Are your incisions stitched? Mine were glued, which I think reduces probability of infection. dan Dan Lester, Boise, Idaho, USA Dr. Ortiz, Tijuana, 4/27/03 355/323/212/190 One week post op >Hi All,I am one week post op and was just put on antibiotics for some >redness and heat around my incisions. Guest guest
Well, the story has changed a bit now. I just went in today for an appointment to see the surgeon, because one of the wounds on the right starting discharging a lot of old blood. It really freaked me out. The surgeon cleaned it, squeezed out all the junk(sorry if TMI), and bandaged it. He told me to clean it 3 times a day and put bacitracin on it. I am going in again tomorrow morning for them to have another look. I don't have a fever or anything. I am just very nervous that I might end up in the hospital again. Now I am getting nervous about my port incision because it hurts. But, the doctor did tell me he wasn't concerned several times. He said sometimes the old blood accumulates and has to find a way out. I am still on antibiotics. I just want it all to heal up so I can get on with my life and my new band! Thanks, Mismac Oh by the way, my doctor stapled my incisions. Dr. Mehta from Caremax surgical did my surgery in Long Island, NY. On a good note, I have lost about 12 pounds already! > > Sounds like your doc is doing the right thhing. Guest guest
Your doc is just being wise and cautious, to prevent an infection. No reason for worry. Guest guest
Connie, I had a canal wall up procedure. My c-toma was localized around my hearing bones. The doctor had to remove two of them but he left the third one for reconstruction with a prosthesis at a later date. The doctor appears confident he can restore my hearing to normal or even better than what it was. > > > > Hello my C-toma Brothers and Sisters! Guest guest
Hi Dave! Glad to see your still holding your humor...the " dont get too close to the 'white light' thing " LOL is it normal to wait so long to get the packing out..or in your case the gel dissolved? Maybe any of you who had the operation could let me know what the usual time frame is for regular packing, I think that's what they use here. I sure hope the ringing goes away for you soon, and yes, lots of 'white light ' to you today Dave. Your C-Toma pal, and still nervous pre-op patient, Joanne > > Hello my C-toma Brothers and Sisters! Guest guest
Dave - that's great. Sounds like the C-toma was caught in time. You didn't need the more invasive procedure & your hearing can turn out to be even better. Once the ringing is gone, you'll be in great shape. Best wishes for your progress to continue - Connie > > > > > > Hello my C-toma Brothers and Sisters! Guest guest
Hello Dave, I don't know what have happened, but I wrote you an answer for some days ago, but I can not see it here. I am sure I got the message that it was waiting for approval, but maybe my internet-connection collapsed again. That have happened a lot lately. Anyway, I just want to wish you good luck tomorrow. I can at least say that my " big S " , went just fine! Take care, Knittacia > > Hello my C-toma Brothers and Sisters!
