Guest guest
Can anyone tell me if you can use the aloe vera from your garden and if it would work to put in liguid soap. Just peel it and blend it up? I'm sure it would work in CP, but not this other way. My neighbor has these huge aloe vera plants and I want to make good use of them. Thanks for any help. Guest guest
Thank You Leanna, I am glad you enjoyed my web page. I will be adding more things on soon, like Bath & Body. I just want to make sure that I get the best recipes and do testing before I add them onto the web page. If it's not good enough for me...It's not good enough to sell! Also I just added a Free-For-All Links Page onto my web site. Please stop by (Everyone) and add your link to the list. I think it's a great way to help everyone get the word out on your site. Guest guest
Thanks Cate, I have to say with trying to build my web site by myself with no previous knowledge and creating all the products myself, and now trying to add on new Bath & Body line I think I am gonna get rid of the Beaded Jewelry Line. I used to have a retail storefront and sold alot of it. But lately my hands have been bad Carpal Tunnel Sydrom :-( So I think the best thing to do is just not do that anymore. I thank you for visiting my web site. Please check back I am adding new things on all the time! Have a Great Day!!! :-) Juniper Spayth Owner of Juniper's DeJaVu Home of all your Hand Poured Candles, Hand Dipped Incense and Custom Hemp Jewelry !!!! Guest guest
After another interrupted night of sleep when yet again I woke up believing that I have had the operation, I thought I would make my first post. I found out in August that I had Cholesteatoma in my left ear, and after a couple of attempts to hover it out, they thought it best to send me for a CT scan. This revealed damage to bones 1 and 2, though apparently they can never find out the complete story until they open up. They found out by chance that I had it, after an ear infection/ ear buds/ numerous flights with work caused a perforated ear, I have nearly perfect hearing in the ear (95%) and also have " Dry Cholesteatoma " so no runny ear problems giving away any hint of it being there for some time. I am booked in for a Mastoidectomy (CWD I think) on the 13th Jan, which coincidentally is my birthday-great! I have met the specialist who will be operating on me, and I must say that for a short while after I felt really at ease (- I noticed that he didn't have shakey hands when passing me a cup of coffee!) My current issues that I am trying to deal with.... I was told by the Dr that due to the fact that my hearing was so good now, I will undoubtedly suffer from a deteriation in hearing Reconstructive surgery after this would be pointless because my right ear runs at 110% of average, and will already be over compensation for the slight loss in my left (He explained it much better) Bitterness is my main issue. I must admit that am currently feeling quite bitter about things. I am perfectly well at the moment, suffer no pain, no dramatic loss of hearing, no balance issues etc, yet in one months time, I will go into surgery and come out with all of the above- It just doesn't seem right. I would appreciate any replies from people who have felt the same.
Guest guest
, We're having the same issue with our 6 year old daughter , who is scheduled for her first surgery later today (her "half birthday", coincidentally). She has had a very hard time understanding why we have put her through all of the hearing tests, and why we would put her through a surgery when she has no symptoms except a mild conductive hearing loss which has only been detected on hearing tests - not in the classroom or in normal situations. Hard for me to believe too. But, we've met with three surgeons now who have all confirmed that it really is there, and needs to come out or she will be much worse off. As jittery as this whole business makes me, I'm finding some comfort in the fact that the diagnosis was confirmed by more than one doctor, and even I am not yet so cynical as to believe that they're all colluding to drum up business. Something said to me once (the topic at the time was unrelated to her surgery) seems to put things in perspective for me when I'm feeling fearful for her future with this disease. She said, "Mommy. This is not a big problem. Remember those twins that were joined at the head? Now that was a BIG problem". So, enjoy your holidays, and good luck with your surgery. 1st post After another interrupted night of sleep when yet again I woke up believing that I have had the operation, I thought I would make my first post.I found out in August that I had Cholesteatoma in my left ear, and after a couple of attempts to hover it out, they thought it best to send me for a CT scan. This revealed damage to bones 1 and 2, though apparently they can never find out the complete story until they open up.They found out by chance that I had it, after an ear infection/ ear buds/ numerous flights with work caused a perforated ear, I have nearly perfect hearing in the ear (95%) and also have "Dry Cholesteatoma" so no runny ear problems giving away any hint of it being there for some time.I am booked in for a Mastoidectomy (CWD I think) on the 13th Jan, which coincidentally is my birthday-great! Guest guest
Hi I can understand the frustration of all of this...I have had a problem with my ears for the nearly all my life and all I got told was go home and take my antibotics and eardrops and keep my ears dry..no one ever told me about c-tomas or any problems that I could be facing...on top of all that my family gave me a hard time about being deaf and they did not want to talk to me as I could not hear so they couldnt be bothered..the doctors told me there was nothing wrong with my hearing ... I asked for a specialist a couple of times but I was told they couldnt help me...anyway started a new job last year and demanded to see a specialist and then the shit hit...c-toma in the left ear and op set up within the first 6mths of the new job..wonderful..now have loss of hearing in that ear and just had an op in october for the right ear which they said was fine only to find out I had to have a complete masterdectomy...so yea I feel really peeved off..but you pick yourself up and keep going...I guess I try to think that there is always someone else worse off then me so I dont let it get me down...chin up and good luck with your op Lorna > After another interrupted night of sleep when yet again I woke up > believing that I have had the operation, I thought I would make my > first post. > I found out in August that I had Cholesteatoma in my left ear, and > after a couple of attempts to hover it out, they thought it best to > send me for a CT scan. > This revealed damage to bones 1 and 2, though apparently they can > never find out the complete story until they open up. > They found out by chance that I had it, after an ear infection/ ear > buds/ numerous flights with work caused a perforated ear, I have > nearly perfect hearing in the ear (95%) and also have " Dry > Cholesteatoma " so no runny ear problems giving away any hint of it > being there for some time. > I am booked in for a Mastoidectomy (CWD I think) on the 13th Jan, > which coincidentally is my birthday-great! Guest guest
Lorna and , I was very taken back and sadden by your posts. Your anger and frustration is so understandable and justified. What you are going through is tough. What I believe is even harder to handle, is what you have already been through. All the years of frustration of gradual hearing loss and not knowing why, the numerous visits to various doctors only to be told, "It's an infection--here is an antibiotic", people not believing that you have difficulty hearing, and all the vague symptoms that go along with c-toma. What you are about to enter is a difficult but very positive and progressive phase. You have both found doctors that are actually going to treat the real problem--cholesteatoma. You now have hope! You both have a few surgeries to face. Your hearing will probably get worse, but with reconstruction possibly better than it is now. Some people will now realize the seriousness of your condition and hopefully you will find greater understanding and support. It was my 14 year old son who had the dreaded cholesteatoma. He handled it better than I and I drew strength from him. He never complained-- which amazed me. I would have been a mess. What kept me focused and positive were the words from his doctor. He explained to us that just 5 short years ago, it would have taken 8-10 surgeries to help . He felt that he could do it in 3 or 4. He was right. The reconstruction was successful and although not perfect, his hearing is better than it has been for years. This site is here to help you through the rough moments. It has been the greatest tool of knowledge and support I have found. I hope this helps. -----Original Message-----From: Lorna [mailto:working_class_girl@...]Sent: Friday, December 05, 2003 5:09 AMcholesteatoma Subject: Re: 1st postHi I can understand the frustration of all of this...I have had a problem with my ears for the nearly all my life and all I got told was go home and take my antibotics and eardrops and keep my ears dry..no one ever told me about c-tomas or any problems that I could be facing...on top of all that my family gave me a hard time about being deaf and they did not want to talk to me as I could not hear so they couldnt be bothered..the doctors told me there was nothing wrong with my hearing ... Guest guest
Hi Thanks for the support ... its stories like children having the c- tomas that make me feel I shouldnt have anything to complain about...at least being older I have choices but children believe and trust there parents and doctors to look after them. I have had the last 12mths to get use to it. The only thing I have found I lack sadly is communication in general conversation. I hope has continued good health and again thank you..I didnt mean to sound really bad just could understand nathan's frustration Lorna > > After another interrupted night of sleep when yet again I woke up > > believing that I have had the operation, I thought I would make my > > first post. > > I found out in August that I had Cholesteatoma in my left ear, and > > after a couple of attempts to hover it out, they thought it best to > > send me for a CT scan. > > This revealed damage to bones 1 and 2, though apparently they can > > never find out the complete story until they open up. > > They found out by chance that I had it, after an ear infection/ ear > > buds/ numerous flights with work caused a perforated ear, I have > > nearly perfect hearing in the ear (95%) and also have " Dry > > Cholesteatoma " so no runny ear problems giving away any hint of it > > being there for some time. > > I am booked in for a Mastoidectomy (CWD I think) on the 13th Jan, > > which coincidentally is my birthday-great! Guest guest
Thanks all for the kind and helpful words. Fortunately I suffer no pain or discomfort from the ear, so I am just planning to box it off somehow until after Christmas, then deal with things nearer the day. I hope you all enjoy the festive period. Thanks > Hi > Thanks for the support ... its stories like children having the c- > tomas that make me feel I shouldnt have anything to complain > about...at least being older I have choices but children believe and > trust there parents and doctors to look after them.
