Guest guest
Hi it's been a while since I did a post. I don't have cholesteatoma but I do have problems with my ear and they opened it up last year (June 2006), cut it from behind the ear and cleaned the mastoid of scar tissue and repaired the hole in my ear drum caused from a tube caused by an infections. I only have about 40% hearing and it was not getting any better. So in March he said I needed another tube in my ear as a result from pressure behind the eardrum which he was afraid the ear drum would collapse. Which I did as he is the specialist from the ear instutite in Farmington Hills MI. I had always suspected that it was allergies that caused this whole problem as I have always had asthma and allergic to just about everything. (I'm 57 now) None of the Drs. I have been to thought it was the dog that we got last April .....about a month after that all my problems started. My family Dr. now thinks that I might have been right and just may think about removing the dog........I would be curious if anyone here has animals and if they ever tried to remove them to see if they would get better? My specialist still does not think that the dog is the cause. Just wanted to take a poll and see if anyone else might have the same issues as I do. Thanks, Ann
