Guest guest
My 9 yo (year old), Reece, took a bite of pepperoni on his own last night. This is the first time meat has touched his lips since he was about 18 months old. He said he liked it but he always says that regardless and we will have to see if he does it again. Nonetheless, wow. I was really surprised he did it and happy he liked it. :-) Roxanna ô¿ôDon't take life too seriously; No one gets out alive. Guest guest
Wow, and of ALL things...pepperoni?? I can think of about fifty meats that I prefer to pepperoni! They are full of surprises! had his Martial Arts ceremony this morning. He received his "orange belt" He did well. He stood and said the pledge of allegiance, and did jumping jacks for warm up.. BUt he is a HUGE ham and loves an audience. So ,when he saw all of us, he was lost to the instructor. He went through his whole repertoire(sp?). He did break a block of wood with his fist! ----- Original Message ----- From: Sent: 5/24/2006 9:25:03 AM Subject: [ ] Tale of Pepperoni My 9 yo (year old), Reece, took a bite of pepperoni on his own last night. Guest guest
Hi Roxanne, A friend had told me if you microwave the pepperoni, some of the fat is eliminated. What kind of pepperoni did you use? Guest guest
Wish I could say I don't eat processed foods, especially meat, but it's good (let's not even talk about 'high fructose corn syrup' or 'hydrogenated anything'), but I agree 100% with the microwave thing. Not just for your child but for anyone's taste buds. I went to an Italian restaurant that microwaved their pepporoni before putting it on the antipasta salad and I have never gone back...just a personal note... Even if it's just a miniature bite, it counts. Of course, he never does take a bite. So this was the first and he did it by himself without anyone there. I can't believe all that "cheerleading" eventually worked. lol. Now, he hasn't taken a bite of anything except his normal diet since the big pepperoni bite. But it's a start...
