Interesting. thanks for the post. The hearing that came back is

diminishing, feels blocked and my hearing aid squelches so much I

can't stand to wear it. I am needing to get another appt with the

audiologist to have it adjusted again, but your post about the ear-

boogers might be something to consider. Possibly a warm moist

compress to help soften it???

thanks

I hope this will help, but I heard this at my husbands follow-up appointment for his last ear surgery.

An older gentleman was complaining about his hearing aid squealing too much and he thought the device was going bad. Turns out that - in his case - the squealing was caused by the build-up of ear wax in the hearing aid. All the technichian did was use a small tool to pull out the offending wax.....The older gentleman asked if he could clean it out himself. The Technician said he could do so lightly but eventually it would need to be properly cleaned to fully remove all the wax.

You may want to get with your hearing aid specialist and see what you can do regularly on your own.

I have no suggestions on what to do about the ear boogers....I was told once by my pediatrician that a drop or two of warm baby oil will help clean out the impacted wax in my sons ear. Note that he has never had anything more than a few mild ear infections. Again, you'd want to consult with your childs doctor to avoid introducing outside bacteria. My husband dealt with all kinds of ear issues up until he had his c-toma removed about 7-8 yrs back. I remember him finding some relief with warm compresses.

I wish you all the best of luck.....as of today my husbands right ear is doing really well so we're happy....

Luck and blessings, to All of you....

Thanks . I will keep an eye on the wax buildup, but currently,

I have a new h.a. We have a 7 month old puppy who seems to have th

ability to get anything from anywhere and has chewed up & and eaten

mine TWICE! The only safe place to store it is in the case, closed

and on the highest shelf in my cloest with the door closed. SO... I

am dealing with another new h.a. at the moment. It could just be

incorrectly set for my tolerance or possibly the wax buildup in the

ear. Yes, I've always heard of the warm oil to soften the wax, but I

can't put anything in my ear, so thinking a moist warm compress might

be my only option here at home. I also need to make it a priority to

find a new ENT. My current one said to call if I have any changes,

but when I have, calls are not returned for days and he's not

interested in an office visit. He just wants to call in RX's

on that note... I've got a post to make!
