Guest guest
I had a c-toma removed last February and reconstruction with Titanium in september last year. I am told my hearing has improved according to the tests but it is intermittent. The consultant said this was because i actually have a small middle ear cavity (previous scarring and disease) and not enough air is getting in from the eustachian tubes. Therefore the prosthesis is working but not that effectively because the pressure is uneven?? Does this make sense? I get little bursts where my ear goes all echo like and things are very loud and i can hear myself talking strangely. Like if you have an echo on the telephone for example but it feels very airy but blocked at the same time. It is very uncomfortable and painful when it happens and is starting to get me down. It happens a few times a day. I thought I would be able to hear better but normally after the operation. I have an appointment next week but I live in Germany and my german isnt great and I'm worried how to best explain myself. Anyone else had this or know what could be causing it? Thanks in anticipation! Gail
