Guest guest
Welcome Terrese.... Well, once you get all the caffeine out of your system you'll feel better... and super tonic in some juice in the am... will give you energy. You need to eliminate that diet sprite... it is not at all good for you. Try a slice of lemon in your water. How much decaff (which still has caffeine in it) are you drinking? Have you thought about organic coffee or an herbal tea in the am? Tell us about your eating habits also... so we can help you further. Suziterresem <terresem@...> wrote: Hello, My name is Terrese. I have recently been diagnosed withhyperthyroidism. I have eliminated caffiene from my diet.I have not had any caffiene for almost two months. This is saying a lot, as I used to drink "lots" of coffee, and soda. I now drink decaff coffee and diet sprite plus lotsof distilled water. My question is, what else is there to drink that is similarto caffienated drinks, but has no caffiene? I know this is too much to ask for, but is there something that gives youa "pick me up" without caffiene? Thank you, Terrese

Good on eliminating coffee and congratulations on making it two months so far. Caffeine wastes your adrenals which can also contribute to wasting your thyroid. Drinking decaf is still not a good idea as they use chemicals to decaffeinate the coffee. What is in your diet sprite that is the sweetener? Aspartame? Really doesn't matter. You should not drink any sodas at all as they are not good for your body either. Sodas really play heck with the spleen. Diet sodas use toxic poisons for their sweetener. I say this because most of the non-sugar diet sweeteners used are chemical nightmares produced by the pharmaceutical giants. They are poisonous to your body. Very good on drinking the distilled water though. Try adding some of the juice of a fresh lemon to each glass that your drink. This will help to cleanse your body of excess mucus and hopefully make your body more alkaline, which it will if you change your diet to a more alkaline one. You are going to have to rebuild your body and in order to do that you are going to have to make some serious changes in your diet and lifestyle. If your thyroid is acting up then your immune system isn't far behind as they are all tied in, thyroid, spleen, adrenals, etc. So if you really feel you need a pick me up then you need to consider that your diet is slowly killing you. What is your diet like? What do you eat? What other beverages do you consume? Are you taking any medications legal or otherwise? Do you smoke? How is your sleep? Are you under any undue stress? If you need to use a sweetener then use Stevia or Agave nectar or honey. The only pick me up out there without caffeine is a 100% natural diet of, preferrable, organic fruits and vegetables. All grains, nuts and seeds should be at least soaked for 8 hours to eliminate the enzyme inhibitors. Then sprout what you can. Do not eat anything that comes in a box or can. No preprocessed foods. If you can't live without meat then do your best to make sure you eat only certified organic meats and even then severly limit your intake. Cutting out dairy will help you tremendously as well. All your foods should be as fresh and alive as possible in order to obtain the maximum benefit from them and to begin the long road back to optimum health and vitality. It can be done and you can do it. It is your choice as your health is in your hands. Words of advice on health from Jack LaLanne, " If man makes it, don't eat it! " Hope this helps. It is very good for you and depending on which herbs you use will depend on what it is good for. I enjoy drinking it. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Hi Terrese, Sorry to hear baout your diagnosis but fear not there is tons of hope! I " had " hypothyroidism and up until January of this year took Thyroid meds for over 4 years. As long as you dont have a medico telling you it has to come out tomorrow, you can get off those meds and heal your thyroid. I did it, and know several people that have done it. Most of the stuff Don posted about adjusting diet are dead on, to that i will add the following: I still consume caffiene, but in the form of organic green teas. I dont use sugar in my bevarages and use agave nectar. I do have a cup of coffee on occasion but use only organic and limit it to one cup in any one day. Lots and lots of water is awesome. In addition to the diet,I have found tremendous benefit from the following supplements: Blue Green Algae, Kelp, spirulina and chlorella, Medicinal Mushrooms, and CoQ10. Also, frequently shortly after the hypo-thyroid diagnosis, other body systems will start to fail. I have talk to many other hypo thryoid people and found that almost every single one of them had one or more of the following problems: Increased allergy issues - specifically breathing/lung capacity; Insulin resistance or Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis, and liver problems (Fatty Liver disease) Sadly after 4 years i ended up with all of those and continued to gain weight, be exhasuted and continued failure of overall health even though i was under Dr's care and stayed on my meds. The only thing that made a difference was stopping the meds, doing a total body cleanse and changing my diet and lifestyle forever. There is so much more, and a good place to start is by reading some of the cleansing programs in the files section, something as easy as a 3 day juice cleanse could be a big help and then when you feel braver, the total body cleanse. I have not been on the boards much lately due to work demands, but would be happy to take your offline messages if you have questions Sylvia > > > Hello, > My name is Terrese.
