I often will get headackes when I run the volume to high. Another thing that causes them for me is if the battery is getting weak. As the battery weakens it starts making the sounds barbled and harder hear. I have a Oticon Gala dual digital and change the batteries every Monday morning. They only cost .50 Thank you, Tom! Curtis did mention 2 days ago that the hearing aid made things louder in his "bad" ear than in his good. Unfortunately, because of his age, they didn't give him volume control yet. So we have to go back and get it adjusted, but we have an appt on Tuesday morning so it's not too far away. The battery tip sounds like a good one, too. I had been waiting until he tells me the aid is beeping, then changing it. But I hadn't thought about the angle of the sound getting a little less crisp if the battery wasn't brand new. Today, I sent him to school without the hearing aid to see what happened and he did get a headache, but WAY less painful than he has been having. So it may be a combination problem...the portable they are in is not well-ventilated either and all the windows are closed on these cold rainy days. When I picked him up, he reported that he didn't have any headache until they got the chalk out, then his head started to hurt but it wasn't a too bad. Thanks again. If you have any more tips, please let me know! Marie
