Guest guest
Hello Kate I take it you're looking to see a consultant privately because you don't normally have much of a choice within the NHS. It is usually easier if you know the names of any doctors which is often best got by word of mouth from someone else who has used them. That way you ring them up and make an appointment but some of them may ask for a GP referral. The only ones I know of are based in London. Other than that your GP can recommend a consultant or you can go via BUPA (even if you're not a member) but again there may not be a lot of choice. My lists are out of date, so may not be that useful to you but you may want to take a look anyway. You may have to register to log in to them. This used to a good site but they seem to have shunted a lot of the information off into a subscribers only zone. It lists all the consultants in the country but doesn't seem to list their names under specialty headings: http://www.specialistinfo.com/directory.php This one is London only - lots of doctors listed but three quarters don't seem to appear under the specialty sections: http://www.london-consultants.org/consultants/ Lastly you can always look up the names of ENT doctors via the websites of any local NHS Trusts. Some of these will also list details of their private practices, if not, at least it will give you some names to check out. You can get the names of all the hospitals, departments and consultants in England via this section of the NHS direct site - it may take some navigating: http://www.nhs.uk/england/hospitals/default.cmsx Phil hiya everyone, does anybody, by any chance have a list of various consultants in the UK? any help would be of great help, thanks kate ---Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).Version: 6.0.802 / Virus Database: 545 - Release Date: 26/11/
Guest guest
HI All Just wanted to say that I'm booked in for another surgery on Jan 4th (getting it in early this year!). I seem to have become so use to struggling with ctoma, just getting through each day, that I'm fairly oblivious to level of stress it causes. I have been slipping downhill over thelast few months though - a ferocious burning sensation in ears, problems with my neck, poor balance and an awful lot of internal noise. And then I get these occasional and strange shudders which shoot through my brain - as if everything shifts sideways - anybody else ever get that or should I just put it down to the onset of insanity? Anyway, thanks for listening and thanks to everyone on this site for all the tremendous moral support I've had over the past few years. We shall fight on! Guest guest
Good luck and I fully understand the oblivious to any stress. After 4 or 5, it almost seems routine. Guest guest
Hi Phil, I am sorry to hear you are having yet another surgery. Hopefully this one will bring you some relief. I would rather be wishing you just a Happy New Year rather than good luck, but I will be thinking of you on the 4th, and hope that all goes well. Just dont give up.
