I currently have about 60+ percent hearing in my left ear where my incus an

mallous was removed (along with the c-toma) during the first surgery (Oct 19).

I asked my Doc what was conducting the sound and he told me that they are not

quite sure. He mentioned some medical term (I don't remember it) which

basically translated to misc. gunk in the middle ear. No you are not imagining

the hearing.

At my second surgery in March he will use some cartlidge to attach the stapes

(which was partially eroded) to the eardrum.

Dear Terrance,I'm exactly 14 days post-op on the c-toma in my right ear. I've had some of the packing removed, but not all. The drainage started to scare me after ten days and I put a phone call to the Doctor's office. They told me that this was normal and would continue for at least a week more. I found it is heavieast in the evening when I lie down. Of course, I think it all depends from person to person and if you have any questions, pick up the phone and give your Doctor a call. My surgery was a CWD and the damn c-toma had eroded into the brain, so there was no re-building done at this time.
