Guest guest
Hello, I just had my first c-toma surgery on Thursday Dec 14. Everything up to this point has been fine. But yesterday the pain in my hear has increased to the point that I have to take tylenol 3 every 3 hrs to feel OK. My bigger concern is that the hearing in my hear seems to have worsened each day, Im not sure if its because of the packing is filling up with fluids/blood or im actually loosing the hearing in it. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned?
Guest guest
I had my canal wall down surgery on nov 3rd and i went thru some of what you did. My ear started hurting a few days after, i think its mainly because i was getting some of the feeling back in it and the gauze plug that was hard as a rock from blood. Mine was pretty numb after the surgery for the first couple of days. It was pretty painfull off and on but not to the point that i was popping tylenol every few hours( i deal with pain well). For me the really bad pain didnt start until a couple of weeks after when it really started healing. My doctor saud it was because the nerves were healing, i think he was right because its fine now. As far as the hearing goes im not sure. Im sure everybody is different. In my case i had a big gauze plug in there and a lot of packing( i think the hard blood filled plug caused a good bit of my pain). It was totally filled with blood and i couldnt hear anything, totally deaf on that side. Now that the plug is gone and the packing is mostly gone im hearing better but not great by any stretch. Best of luck with your recovery. I would say if the pain persists as ad as it is to call your doc and get his/her opinion.
