We are getting ready for the March kindergarten registration. We have dreaded the vaccination exemption thing for a long time now.

Our county (Mahoning) does not provide you with a convenient form to opt out of the vaccinations. We are going for a religious exemption.

If any of you have gone the religious exemption route and would care to share, with me, exactly what you used, including the Ohio Revised Code section on exemptions, we would deeply appreciate your sharing with us what you wrote.

As I recall, I may have gone to the Ohio Dept of Education website and looked up what was necessary for the exemption. I only had to write that we would not be vaccinating our son based on philosophical beliefs. I sent it to school and addressed it to the school administator.

May I ask, what school district are you dealing with? It seems that the public schools are a bit more difficult to deal with and most are ignorant to the fact that there is any exemption, so don't let them tell you that you MUST vaccinate because the law is behind you, for now.

The school district is Berlin Center, Western Reserve, outside Canfield. It is a public school, for kindergarten. And she did get some of her vaccinations, do we give them the records for those, or not?

Wonder where I could get a copy of the ORC that lists the exemptions, might be useful to include that.
