Guest guest
Hi Here, The skin graft is used to help reconstruct the eardrum. On my husbands first surgery, the tympanplasty, they took a graft from his scalp just behind his ear. On the successive surgeries they took grafts from his hip area, if I remember correctly......The skin graft is painless......but it helps....... Good luck, and remember to keep asking questions. what's use of skin graft hi,I was checked that there is a cholesteatoma in my right ear. the doctor told me I need a surgery to remove it and another skin graft surgery is needed after two weeks from the first one. Does anyone know why the skin graft is needed?Great thanks!! Need Mail bonding?Go to the Q&A for great tips from Answers users.
Guest guest
Hi, : thanks for your reply. Another question, why the skin graft can not be done at the same surgery when the cholesteatoma is removed.? It means my ear scar needed to be opened again after it heals better from the first surgery? thanks! ben hu 2007/3/26 <illinoisbobcat@...> wrote: Hi Here, The skin graft is used to help reconstruct the eardrum. Guest guest
my daughter had a tympanoplasty at the same time as the CWU. the surgeon took a little bit of muscle from her chewing muscle (don't remember what its called). it was sore while chewing for about the first 3 days. kim > Hi Here, > The skin graft is used to help reconstruct the eardrum.
