Hi Here,

The skin graft is used to help reconstruct the eardrum. On my husbands first surgery, the tympanplasty, they took a graft from his scalp just behind his ear. On the successive surgeries they took grafts from his hip area, if I remember correctly......The skin graft is painless......but it helps.......

hi,I was checked that there is a cholesteatoma in my right ear. the doctor told me I need a surgery to remove it and another skin graft surgery is needed after two weeks from the first one. Does anyone know why the skin graft is needed?Great thanks!!

Hi, : thanks for your reply. Another question, why the skin graft can not be done at the same surgery when the cholesteatoma is removed.? my daughter had a tympanoplasty at the same time as the CWU. the

surgeon took a little bit of muscle from her chewing muscle (don't

remember what its called). it was sore while chewing for about the

first 3 days.

MY son had 2 skin grafts done .When he has his frist surgery in 2005 they removed skin form under his arm to put in behind his right ear.. they did that again in 2006.. and now again in 2007 APRIL 16TH IS SURGERY AGAIN and hes only 9 ELIZABETH WHITEben hu <ben_hu30@...> wrote: Hi, : thanks for your reply.
