Guest guest
Hi All, just got back from the hospital after having his Bronchioscopy and looks like he has a floppy epiglotis. That little thing in the back of your throat that opens & closes when you swallow. He's having a rough time getting over the drugs he had to take to put him under since he has an anesthesia allergy and keeps throwing up. The gave us suppositories to give him and they gave him two shots in the hospital to stop it, while he was still groggy. Looks like we're going to have to go through this again while awake to see if this is the case before having to have surgery to thin out the Epiglotis. Yick! This might be what is causing the sleep apnea and maybe not Narcolepsy at all. Oh well, still don't have the complete answer.
Guest guest
Hello, I believe that it is typical. All of my c-toma surgeries have been on an out-patient basis. Best wishes to your daughter and you on her speedy recovery. I was surprised to hear that it is outpatient surgery. Is this typical?
Guest guest
Keep in mind that most hospitals consider outpatient as being in the hospital less than 24 hours. Both times Katelyn had surgery on an outpatient basis, we were at the hospital from early morning until late evening. Guest guest
When I had mine done they kept me overnight. The surgery didn't start until noon though and wasn't over until 7 PM and then there was the drug problems so I slept all through the night. I hope my next one (if I need it that is) is an outpaitent one! Amy
Guest guest
I still don't understand why these surgeries are outpatinet. Mines supposed to last 3 hours and starts at 1:15 in the afternoon. Are they really going to send me home the same evening? What will I feel like?
