Guest guest
hello everyone!! first of all just like to say, this is a great group, shareing great info, and I have found it very helpful, I have a couple of questions. I have a cholesteatoma in my right ear, and have recently had an operation on my left ear to patch up a large perferation.I have an appointment at the end of the month to check up on my hearing and to discuss treatment on the left ear.fingers crossed. The reality of the operation has just started to sink in, and i can't really picture how they remove the cholesteatoma without really getting in there and therefore damaging or removing important peices of my ear!!!!! my question is(i know i can ask my dr,but i am impatient) Are all cholesteatomas situated in the middle ear? In all operations to remove cholesteatomas, are the hearing bones inevitabally damaged or removed? thanks bon.
