Guest guest
I had a canal wall down mastiodectomy and tympanoplasty on Nov 3rd. For the most part my recovery has gone pretty well but i do have a question that maybe someone can answer. The last time i saw my Doctor he gave me some Neomycin ear drops and told me to use them three times a day. I have been using them for a little over a week now. The first couple of days were ok but now my earlobe has a constant crust buildup and im getting a rash on the side of my face. Is this sue to the drops? Im also wondering is the crusty buildup is the gellfoam coming out? When i had a tympanoplasty on my other ear a few years ago i dont remember it being like this. I have tried putting a little ball of cotton in front of the ear plug he is having me wear. While it helps the discharge it becomes a hard ball that gets stuck and it painful to remove. At this point it seems better to let it drain but id like to do something about the crust and itchy rash. Does anyone know how to get rid of the crust on my earlobe? Its pretty gross looking and sore. Any ideas for the rash? Thanks Jim
