Guest guest
Hi All! I did wrote something here a few days ago but it seems like it does not appear at all. Where did it go? Nevermind then. Well, I had c-toma at my right ear before and had undergo 4 operations since then. My last operation was 4 years ago and I lost my hearing early this year. I just want to ask can c-toma spread to other ear? I'm just afraid that I'll lost my hearing at my left ear as well.
Guest guest
I wouldn't use the term " spread " to describe this, but yes, a c-toma can develop in your other ear. I had a c-toma in my left ear, which was successfully removed a few years ago, and I recently developed one in my right ear, which was successfully removed a couple of months ago. > > Hi All! > > I did wrote something here a few days ago but it seems like it does not > appear at all. Guest guest
C-toma does not spread from one ear to the other. However, what caused the problem in one ear (for example, poor estachian tube function)could cause a problem in the other ear. I'm really bummed to hear that you are having hearing problems now. When is your appt with the doc? > > Hi All! > > I did wrote something here a few days ago but it seems like it does not > appear at all. Where did it go? Guest guest
Hey, sorry for the late reply. Rarely check emails nowadays. Well, my next appointment would be in February. I'm don't really have the courage to meet the doctor now coz later, I know it'll frustrate me a lot. The doc seems like giving up hope with me. I supposed my cholesteatoma has succesfully removed but for the hearing loss, he seems like cant do anything about it. That's what I'm, sad about. I'm still young, I guess, 20 years of age. So, there's a lot of thing I wanted to do. I just hope that this will not restrict me to do what I want but you know, sometimes it'll disturb the feelings and sort. Actually my previous doc is much better coz he comforts me a lot, but the current doc I have, he's not that friendly. I changed doc coz the earlier one which I've been consulting since I was 12 was so busy in managing the hospital and his faculty (its a university hospital). I've told him(the current doc) that I have lots of sound going on in my ear (the one that I lost my hearing), coz I thought that's abnormal but he said that it's normal. Is it normal? It bothers me a lot when I was listening to lectures or sometimes when I sit down quietly, all those sounds would suddenly appear. I sometimes do got a headache prior to that. Is that normal? > > > > Hi All! > > > > I did wrote something here a few days ago but it seems like it > does not > > appear at all. Where did it go? Guest guest
Hello, I was also told by two doctors in my area that there was not anything that could be done for my hearing and I refused to believe that. I searched the internet and found my new doctor in Long Island and I have a huge improvnment already and he still has to fine tune it (his words) in the second stage. Do not give up because with today's technology it is possible to get your hearing back with a prosthesis and any doctor that tells you they cannot just does not have the experience to make it happen! I am only 30 and that is why I refused to accept that I will need hearing aids. If you are healthy then another surgery can fix your hearing. Keep searching on the web and you will find a doctor like mine that is confident as long as the hearing nerve has not been damaged then normal hearing is possible! Good Luck!umigotmail <umigotmail@...> wrote: Hey, sorry for the late reply. Rarely check emails nowadays. Well, my next appointment would be in February. Guest guest
Wow, that's good! I wish I could find one good doctor. Well, I'm not from anywhere in US. I dont know where else to find a great doctor in my country (I resides in Malaysia). Do I need to find overseas doctor? I dont know whether the technologies would be available here. My mom once told me to try private hospital here but I dont know whether I should try or not since the doctors in university hospital which I've been going for more than 13 years should have known me better. They know everything about my history from perforated eardrum (which I had since I was 6) till I got c-toma(I was 13 then) and now, hearing loss. I do sometimes lost my trust to this hospital which I suppose it was one of the best hospital in my country where most of the specialist are there. I've been busy with my studies sometimes I dont want to think about it but it does bothers me at times. Owh yeah, when I asked my current doc would another or maybe few other surgeries would be possible for me to fix my hearing, he answer that it'll be a very tedious thing to do (and he gave me a look). What was that suppose to mean? I thought doctors should give hopes to their patients. I was so down when I heard that. Or maybe its true that I cant fix my hearing since they know a lot about me? I wonder.. But thank god I still can hear at one side but the weird sounds I've been experiencing inside the ear that I cant hear does bothers me a lot. Its like a high-pitched sound, it'll goes up and then it'll dissapear. What was that sound actually? Was that some sort of air pressure or what? > > > > > > Hi All! > > > > > > I did wrote something here a few days ago but it seems like it > > does not > > > appear at all. Where did it go? Guest guest
Hey Amber, just want to know, what kind of technology does your doctor used? Is that a latest technology or just a normal implant? > > > > > > Hi All! > > > > > > I did wrote something here a few days ago but it seems like it > > does not > > > appear at all. Where did it go?
