Guest guest
Hi All, Just updating you on my surgery that took place on Thursday (6/1). It was a complete success! Two of my bones weren't eroded from the cholesteatoma - only one. The bone that had been eroded, my doctor was able to remove and clean and put back in my ear....yes, I have all three bones! The entire surgery was 5 hours. When I woke up the inside of my ear was in alot of pain, but I was given medication to ease the pain. I have been taking an antibiotic and oxicodine for pain. Today is my first day up and out of bed - I feel great. I've been off the pain medication since yesterday. Only a little of my hair was shaved.....the only bad part is that I haven't been able to wash my hair since weds - yes very nasty. I've been taking baths and I'm going to make an appointment to get my hair washed sometime this week to keep my ear dry. Any suggestions for keeping your ear dry while washing at home??? I look forward to your responses... Ana D. PS - If anyone is in the Boston area and needs to find a surgeon - I've got the guy for you!Ana L.
