Maybe some of you didn't see my post below from yesterday?

I woke up this morning and still have this pain in my mastoid area.

All I can do is describe the area where it hurts.

Go along the ear ridge where the arm of glasses may sit and move your

finger towards the back of your head where the occiptal bone is. I

can't determine if the pain is coming from the occiptal bone or the

mastoid process. Does any of you know if the Sternocleidomastoideus

muscle goes up that far?

The inside of my ear does not hurt, there is no drainage. But it does

hurt on the outside only if I press gentley on it or lay on it. The

pain seems to be coming from the area where my glasses sit. I have

had this pain off and on ever since I had surgery and it is releived

somewhat if I take off my glasses or lift the arm up slightly. I've

had a headache since last night that is running along the right

temple up top of my right eye.

I called my ENT yesterday, he's not there till Monday. Called my

Family Dr. couldn't get in. I don't have very good luck going to walk

in clinics. Plus my ENT doesn't like me going to walk in clinics if

at all possible, because the Dr's there may not know what they are

looking at in my ear and become alarmed. I did called my RMT and

explained to her what my pain is. She thinks maybe it's a

Sternocleidomastoideus muscle problem, but is really not too sure

without seeing me.

Hope someone out here can help me until I can call my ENT on Monday?

Thanks,

, tom here;

I had a CWD / MRM in Oct. I have occasional tenderness / soreness

in the Mastroid area. I associate my discomfort with general

sinus / nasel congestion. I find a decongestant and tylernol give

some relief.

Soon after the surgery, I had some discomfort in the area I

associate with the 'Jaw/chew' muscle. Not sure if that is the same

muscle you ask about.

I'm disappointed that your ENT does not have an on call person. I

guess, the believe in the 'take two asprin and call me on Monday'.

I'm not sure that my pain was the same as what you are experiencing.

Good luck and let us know the outcome.
