Guest guest
Hi, . If you want a second opinion, you can see the ENTs I've used for both myself and my daughter. The practice is Otolaryngology Associates (http://www.otolaryngology-assoc.com/). They have offices in Fairfax, Reston and Centreville. Though it's been many, many years since my ctoma surgeries, the ENTs at Otolaryngology Associates have been excellent, and were the first to find my daughter's ctoma a little over a year ago. Drs. McKenzie or McBride are the two I've seen myself for my ear-related issues. At the very least, a second opinion will put your mind at ease about your current doctor's diagnosis. As for doctors intentionally leaving ctoma behind - I'd like to have a little more faith in humanity, and especially doctors, than to think anyone would be as coldhearted and selfish to do that. Best of luck. -Jeff. ___________________________________ New here. Anyone from N. VA/DC area? Who's your Dr? Hi everyone, So glad to find this group. I had my 1st surgery last September to remove cholesteatoma in my right ear and getting ready for my 2nd. I did not like my first doctor. I'm now seeing Dr. Sanjay Prasad. He claimed to have done 3000 of ear surgical procedures in the last 10 years. Has anyone been to him? How do you know that your doctor will do his/her best to remove all cholesteatoma and not leave some behind for future surgeries so he/she can make more money? My CAT scan does show that I have new cholesteatoma growth so I know that I should have this 2nd surgery. But when will the surgery end? I guess my concern is how do you trust your doctor? Is he/she out there to make lots of money or to keep you from going through one surgery after another? Any input/advice is appreciated. Guest guest
Hi I also use Prasad I can't say enough good about him! He is known to be tops in his field in our DC/MD/VA areas. Prasad is not out to make money I truly belive his first concern is his client's. He is a very caring Doc unlike alot I have been to. Plus if you have been to his office (I use Bethsda)it is very high tech and clean. I have by fate meet several of his past client's and they to have been thrilled with him. The bummer to this whole Cholesteatoma thing is they can grow back and we will for the rest of our lives have to keep an eye on them. Sue > Hi everyone, > > So glad to find this group. Guest guest
My son has been seeing Dr. McKenzie for a few years now. He saw Dr. Lee, when Dr. McKenzie was unavailable and she was wonderful. We've been very happy with Otolaryngology Associates, in general and have recommended the group to many people. > Hi, .
