It's really helped to know that there are other people with this out there. I had an Tympanoplasty on my right ear in March. I was so scared as it was my first time in hospital and I have a fear of them, but I managed to get over it. So far my ear is doing well, at my last appointment after the surgery he said that my hearing hadn't got any worse. Which is always a good sign I guess. I'm now waiting for my next surgery which won't be for a while yet. The reason for my email is that I was after a bit of advice. I want to go swimming again (haven't been since surgery) but I'm a bit worried about getting water in my ears. I was just wondering whether anyone can suggest what type of ear plugs I can buy and where I can get them. I've looked at internet sites but can only find ones in the U.S. I would welcome any advice. Also is it safe to go on theme park rides. I'm a bit of a fanatic. I would have asked my consultant but my next appointment isn't till the end of July and I can't wait that long as the summer is coming.
