Guest guest
Hello everyone! I have been a member of the site for awhile now and just had my surgery #5 last Thursday (March 30). I had a 2nd look for cholesteatoma (all clear!) and OCR with a titanium prosthesis and cartiledge graft. I was just curious about how the prosthesis worked for other people and what their experience was like as they healed and regained hearing. I feel like I already have a bit of a sensitivity to sound in my newly constructed ear (I keep turning the tv down!) although I can't actually hear yet. After being exposed to sound for a long period of time my ear kind of buzzes, not like tinitus, more like how it feels after being in a dance club all night. I know not to expect results for a couple of weeks yet, and my doctor fully expects my hearing to go back to normal (it had dropped to 40% prior to surgery). Thank you for all replies.
