Guest guest
Naomi, I am in Columbus GA, my son is 5 and has had 2 c'toma removals in Atlanta. It took us about 3 months from the time he was diagnosed to get surgery. I'm sure your doc has taken into consideration the size of the c'toma. Our ENT and surgeon figured my son had his since birth, they told us that they are slow growing, although, once it was removed, it came back very quickly, so I don't know if that is true. I guess it is different for each person. Unless you are having facial paralysis or other symptoms, you are probably Ok to wait 2-3 months, at least that was our experience. Guest guest
Hi, Naomi, I, to, am a teacher. I have had two surgeries. I had the first one in 2003, right after school ended. I did start teaching summer school one week later. I figured if I wasn't up to it, I just would have taken more time off. As things worked out, I was fine. I was really tired, but it all worked out. My second surgery was in Dec., 2005. The c-toma had grown back. I was out of work for two full weeks. The second surgery was more painful. I was very sick afterwards. My stomach and head hurt. My eyes burned. Of course, my ear hurt. I had an overall feeling of discomfort. Personally, I say get it over with. I don't know how long you've been teaching. I know when I was new, I put off a different kind of surgery until the summer. You need to assess your situation and everyone is different. If you can do it now, go for it. Get it over with and you'll feel better soon. BTW, my ear was swollen but it goes back to normal. Good luck with everything! Sincerely, Kathy > > Hi, My name is Naomi, I am 27 in Atlanta.
