I'm just wonering if anyone here is from Canada ? My five year old son

was diagnosed the end of August with Cholesteatoma in his left ear. he

will finaly have surgery the end of January. Nobody here seems to

concerned with the wait times of the surgery , even though as a Mom

its driving me crazy. He will be going to the hospital in London

Ontario for this. If theres anyone who has been there and can share

their story that would be wonderful.

Wishing you all the best for the holidays

Hi , Merry Christmas from town !! Yes, there's people here in Canada that have to deal with this. My now 8 year old son Dan had surgery in March. It was done at Sick Kids in Toronto and so far so good we haven't had any problems. It took his ENT over a year to diagnose it but when it was finally diagnosed we got an appointment pretty quick. It was huge, too (go figure after all thet time...). Dan was a little out of it for a day and a half but all together bounced back faster than I expected. Went back to Sick Kids for checkups in May and November, will have to go back next May. I know, the worrying eats you up and I can just hope now that Dan's won't come back but I guess you never know. I definitely don't understand the wait time either. Good luck to your little guy and yourself !!!! nbig_mama_two <crinas@...> wrote: I'm just wonering if anyone here is from Canada ? Hi :

Please email me privately at www.boan@... and I'll tell you all I

know. I had the mgb in 2004. My information on dealing with OHIP is of

course now out of date. Someone else will have to get the latest data.

Also, you can get most of the information you need from Kim Hazen in

Michigan if your family is going there. There are quite a few Canadians who

have had the mgb. Perhaps you need to get on the other web site - the pre-op

web site - and loads of people will guide you along the way who are going

through it all just ahead of you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Ann
