Guest guest
wow it has been along time since i have been here. well you all have been in my prayers and i hope that everyone is ok. well me i have three more surgurys on my right ear since that the last time i was here and now that takes me up to somewhere areund 20 i guess. i try really hard not to keep track. i have deciced though that it is fine that i can deal with this and do hope that no one will ever have to go through as many surgerys as i have becouse that stinks. well the last time i was here i told everyone that i had finially lost all my hearing due the surgerys and was having alot of trouble with that. well that has been about 1 and half or 2 years now since 2002 anyway i have not regained my hearing and the my doc says that i never will that the nerves are dead due to the surgery. now that is not always a bad thing. i have been dealing with my hearing loss all of my life and i am 29 years old so i always thought that i would like to either be able to hear or not becouse i was tired of poeple always thinking that i was stuck up or that i thought i was better than them becouse i would not notice that someone said something to me and i would walk on by them. another one is that poeple would say that i have selective hearing loss and that is the dunbest thing i have ever heard of. well back to my point i am learning sign launguge and getting pretty good at it i take speech therpy about 4 times a week and they say my speach is great. i was really worred when this happened to me if anyone can remeber that far back ago but i have learned to inbrace my new life.i do not work now and get social secrity disablity but i am in school now and will graduate in 2006. and at that point i will be able to return back to work doing medical codeing and billing. my final thought is that all the way through this we fear the unknown and that then when something like what happened to me happens you fear that your worst nightmare has come true but dont ever forget that we have the ablity to change a nightmare to a dream come true. i wish everyone the best of luck and i will check back in more often to see how everyone is. good luck to all of you getting ready for surgery now and i thank everyone who was there for me during what i feel was the worst time of my life or maybe the best. tammy

Guest guest
Dear Tammi, I read your message. Thank you for your motivational little saying there about turning nightmares into dreams. I am getting ready for my 2nd surgery for the ctoma and am terrified. It made me cry, your saying, because I have never heard it before, and it is very beautiful. I will keep thinking it when times are scary, and for that, again I thank You.I hope you are doing well. > wow it has been along time since i have been here. well you all have > been in my prayers and i hope that everyone is ok. well me i have > three more surgurys on my right ear since that the last time i was > here and now that takes me up to somewhere areund 20 i guess. i try > really hard not to keep track. i have deciced though that it is fine > that i can deal with this and do hope that no one will ever have to > go through as many surgerys as i have becouse that stinks. > well the last time i was here i told everyone that i had finially > lost all my hearing due the surgerys and was having alot of trouble > with that. well that has been about 1 and half or 2 years now since > 2002 anyway i have not regained my hearing and the my doc says that i > never will that the nerves are dead due to the surgery. now that is > not always a bad thing. i have been dealing with my hearing loss all > of my life and i am 29 years old so i always thought that i would > like to either be able to hear or not becouse i was tired of poeple > always thinking that i was stuck up or that i thought i was better > than them becouse i would not notice that someone said something to > me and i would walk on by them. another one is that poeple would say > that i have selective hearing loss and that is the dunbest thing i > have ever heard of. well back to my point i am learning sign launguge > and getting pretty good at it i take speech therpy about 4 times a > week and they say my speach is great. i was really worred when this > happened to me if anyone can remeber that far back ago but i have > learned to inbrace my new life.i do not work now and get social > secrity disablity but i am in school now and will graduate in 2006. > and at that point i will be able to return back to work doing medical > codeing and billing. my final thought is that all the way through > this we fear the unknown and that then when something like what > happened to me happens you fear that your worst nightmare has come > true but dont ever forget that we have the ablity to change a > nightmare to a dream come true. > i wish everyone the best of luck and i will check back in more often > to see how everyone is. good luck to all of you getting ready for > surgery now and i thank everyone who was there for me during what i > feel was the worst time of my life or maybe the best. > tammy
