#4,

I'm sorry to hear about what you are having to go thru. I

retain water also but it's from a hormone condition I have.

As for me, I've had a so-so day. I started having a flare

up and the warning of that flare up came in the way of my

body letting me know that I needed to take a nap. When I

came home today I took a pain pill and went and had a nap.

I did much better afterward. Now it's just time to control

the itching.

I hope that you feel better soon.

Hi #4

Question:- Are you on prednisone? What drugs are you on? What conditions do you have again? Let me know and I will send that info along with the original message below to my Dr contacts.

Love Aisha.

Help me if you can. My body is suffering from ideopathic edema. Not only are my legs swollen but I am also retaining fluid in my abdomin. Sometimes I end up in the emergency room when I have a hard time breathing (i don't want to go there ever again). I have been wearing the ted stockings, staying away from sodium and salt..etc...and I have been drinking tons of water. All those things a doctor recommends. I can not swim anymore because my ankle is not that strong and will not support me. Yet I can't get the swelling to stay down. I want to stay out of the "edema clinic" so does anyone have any suggestions????Oh by the way, I now have voice chat hooked up if anyone wants to chat with me...angelic359Fondly,4

,

Just an idea. How about some easy walks or some gentle yoga to

stimulate circulation in the lower legs. Perhaps you might consult a

yoga professional or a naturopathic doctor. Some gentle yoga

inversions might help. Seek out a professional.

Elevate the feet and legs, use support hose to help with return circulation and Lasix, a diuretic, is the drug of choice as long as the electrolytes are monitored and potassium supplement is given.

Also you need to increase kidney output, Cranberry juice, Apple juice helps to clean . Alfalfa is the herb generaly used to clean the kidneys. Chaparral is a blood cleaner. Kelp also cleans the blood and also Uva Ursi cleans and purifies the blood. The reason there is edema is because the return flow is hindered. As a cancer survivor and "continuing" patient, I can tell you that a balanced diet, proper rest and tolerable exercise help, but you have to have FAITH and a good mental attitude.

Dear Debbie:

Their is no magic pill to cure our bodies. Only our bodies are the ones that

perform the magic of healing when given the right tools. Three steps are

extremely important that we apply to any condition or disease.

Detoxification, nutrition and increased circulation in the whole body.

We have to work with your condition by gently starting a detoxifying

program. It will require some life changes from your part but your life

depends on you making drastic changes toward becoming healthier.

We specialize in cancer cures but we do consultations on other health

conditions and detoxifying programs.

Feel free to ask if you have any other questions and if you want our

detoxifying program let us know.

Sincerely,

Among other nutrients, you might try three things: Mannatech's

AMBROTOSE (cell communicator). Also buy their PLUS (hormone

support). And drink lots of Tahitian Noni.

One diabetic woman's leg was swollen and blackish. She took some

the things above, plus more, like dried juices of fruits and

vegetables. Also, she put Noni cream on the black

area. Through nutrition and Noni, the blackness cleared up, and

the swelling went down. A good natural mineral supplement and

Essential Fatty Acids may help too.

Where can I get more info about Ambrotose? The vet prescribed it for

my dog for cancer, and it is one of the few things he (dog) takes that

I don't know *exactly* what it does, lol! I found one web site about

it, but it was so technical it made my eyes cross.

For anyone thinking about buying it -- it does seem expensive, but it

lasts a long time. We have been using the same large size tub of

powder ($100ish size) since last summer, and there is still plenty

left in the tub. He's a pretty big dog and gets about 1/2 the human

dose.

There is another product that I am told by reliable sources is better than

Ambrotose and I used to sell Ambrotose. I do not have any financial connection

or otherwise with this product. Aloe Immune. I know some pretty great things

have happened with this product and the unified negative field magnetic sleep

systems I sell so I think I was given good information..

Here is contact info.

Aloe Immune comes in two strengths and 90 capsules to a bottle - 150 mg. And 500

mg.capsules. The 150 mg bottle costs $19.95 US and the 500 mg. costs $49.95 US.

plus shipping. You can call 800 807-4779, Al-Low & Associates in Texas to order

and for answers to questions. Email allow@...

Please check out www.DoctorsNutrition.com for their products, for humans!

Colostrum (bovine) has helped dogs and cats with cancer. They can tell you

where to look, or maybe you can find the links on Colostrum stories from

satisfied customers.

These two doctors, Jim and Janine Fox, will consult with you free on the 800

number or by email. Tell them Debbie sent you! Good luck with your pup!

Do you drink lots of water? An article I read said that the body holds onto

water because we don't drink enough to flush ourselves out. Once we convince

our bodies that we're going to drink enough water to get hydrated, it stops

holding water. Try using sea salt. It's full of minerals. With an enlarged

heart I sometimes have edema also but get it more from eating grains (wheat)

than salt.

Another thought is that by eating fresh foods that haven't been preserved,

you cut down on the sodium and don't have to worry about it as much. Since

I've

started using sea salt, I don't worry about how much salt I use anymore.

Have you tried the pineapple juice and maxing out on fruits. The

pineapple juice is supposed to help Type O's specifically with edema,

but not other types. Fruits are generally high in potassium which

helps offset the sodium effect. I have some pineapple juice every

day. It was one of the first changes I adopted.

I either juice a fresh cut pineapple or I buy Lakewood Organic Pineapple

Juice. I also drink some every day. Also, if you buy the Type O protein

powder, it's outstanding in Pineapple Juice. It actually thickens it so

it's like a shake a little.

Thanks. I've been trying pineapple juice, plain or 50/50 with water or

50/50 with green tea or fenugreek tea.

I suspect the pineapple juice is good in one way but bad in terms of

sugar.

I seem to have no tolerance for sugar at all. It feels like if I get

enough pineapple to help edema - then it is also too much sugar and it

cancels out.

I keep looking for more ways to reduce edema - it is very severe for me.

I do already use pantothenic acid, B1 and B6 for the vitamin aspects,

and green tea is supposed to help which I use instead of water, about 8

cups a day.

I've definitely discovered that this is food related, but a BTD

compliant day does not necessarily equal a neutral edema day (much less

an improved one).

The cortisol issues is a major factor -but I know if I eat the right

things it helps - I just need to figure what those are.

I have now read LR4YT - as you said a Much better book that the other

two. It has also pointed out what might be my problem - and that is the

ridiculously high protein I need. That feels right to me an I am going

to try to follow the amount suggested.

I am still convinced I must be a non-secretor after reading the book -

it is the only thing that makes sense.

So with O, Rh-neg, Non-secretor, caucasian and maybe a little taking

into account my 6 foot 3 height and not exactly small bone structure, -

that basically says that I need 2 meat serves, 1 fish serve and an egg

serve daily, as well as a LOT more fruit than I am used to, and the rest

all green veg type. Zero cereal, dairy, legumes, and such.

So I think I'll significantly change my portion ratios, and see what

that does. Looks like I have no anything in my blood :-) And that may

explain a lot :-)

I'm trying to stick with beneficial foods only - but geepurs the things

that pass for a mango in this town are piles of rotting compost in my

book, and nowhere can I find my favourite guavas. I'd LOVE to be

guzzling guavas all day - I grew up on mango, guava, grenadilla and

suchlike. In fact apparently my first word was " bango " , and the family

has referred to the fruit accordingly ever since :-)

No figs here either - I could not even find fig jam - which happens to

be the only jam I would eat as a kid. I think as a kid I must have known

what I needed to eat. I was healthier then and the BTD for me looks a

lot like what I ate then!

Grenadilla is South Africa's answer to Passion fruit - tastes like

Lilikoi in Hawaii. Where do these come in the BTD? I did not see it?

Maybe not tested yet?

So that's the picture from here. I'll see what a change in ratios will do.

Thanks to all for the great ideas.

kathy matthews wrote:

> Have you tried potassium and Vit C?

Thank you - yes I use a lot of both. Potassium is especially necessary.

It's my crazy cortisol level that makes it hard to find enough things

to make progress. But now and then I have a good day and do not know why

- if I can figure why it would help!

And I am always on the lookout for more options :-))

Some that are supposed to help, don't - like dandelion makes me worse -

I wonder why? Maybe knowing why would tell me something useful.

But watermelon makes it better - LOTS of watermelon makes it a little

better :-)

Sleep is also an issue - too little that is.

I suspect it is also related to circulation - mine is sluggish - or

actually in a slug race it would lose - so if I can speed it up that

would probably help the edema. If I do not exercise on any particular

day - it will be worse that night and the next day - so exercise helps

to speed it and clear some edema.

It's like there is a key to this - I have seen it - but I can't find it :-)

I am not good at journalizing everything I do, though that may help

if I can find the time to do it. It's very impractical - I get a good

day every month or two and can say hello to the bones in my feet - nice

to know they are there - and love it but never can figure what I did

differently so I can do it again.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sooner or later the answer will crop up :-)

Has to! I know there is one. It's probably something I am doing wrong

that I need to figure out rather than something I am doing right. Or

maybe it is not so simple as one thing, and it is a combination of

things that needs to be fixed.

Tantalizing but currently out of reach.

Irene

Try Bromlein (sp?). I know you can get the pills from Dr

D'Adamo's website. It's the pineapple proteins without the juice

and sugar.
