Congratulations, Pat...........BARB in Florida

I am excited!

Hi friends,

I wanted to share with you my one last goal before my first anniversary of

my knee replacements. I figure you are the people who will understand the

most what this means to me.

The other day, for the first time, I was able to kneel on one of those

kneeling gardening things without using my arms to hold me up. In other

words....I put my complete weight on my replacement knees. I know I could

not just kneel down on a hard floor right now....but this thing has side arm

support for getting up and down and until now, I was first too scared and

later when I tried it hurt. But now, I know I can do it! Hope you don't

mind me patting myself on the back but this was the one last thing I wanted

to succeed in doing before my 1 year anniversary of the surgery.

Thanks for letting me share!

well done Pat, I couldn't kneel on my knee replacement for the life of me,

not for long any way.

Congratulations, Pat! I am two years post-op for bilateral TKR. I had my two

year surgeon's appointment yesterday. My surgeon says I am to avoid kneeling if

I can at all help it, unless I have really thick, cushy pads to kneel on. The

reason being, the kneecap area is the weakest part, and kneeling puts a lot of

stress on the joints.

I wonder if surgeons have different opinions about kneeling vs. not-kneeling on

new knees. I know my surgeon is adamently against the use of CPMs as he'd

rather his patients do the work themselves as opposed to a machine doing if for

him/her.
