Thank you for your reply . I am around 7 months post op now. I am doing

fine with both knees and I have no pain. But I tried kneeling on a foam

gardening pad and found it to be very uncomfortable. I was hoping to be able to

kneel a little bit this summer so I could do some gardening. I think you are

correct in that it is going to be an individual thing. I can do everything else

with no problem so I will probably try it again.

[Norton AntiSpam] Re: can you kneel?

I had bilateral TKR done in July 2009. I saw my surgeon last July, and return

this July. At my annual appointmet last year, my surgeon told me no kneeling at

that time, but at my next appointment (this year), we'd see. I had a slower than

usual recovery and my surgeon advised me to wait to kneel if I could at all put

if off. (I've kneeled only once in two years, and it was in the process of

getting myself up after I fell, and it was NOT comfortable to kneel.....and it

was seven months post-surgery.)

I think it's an individual thing.....how long before kneeling, how much

discomfort there is doing it and is there a way to adapt around not doing it. I

know I can certainly make adaptations if I end up on permanent no-kneeling.

> I was wondering if anyone here who has had a TKR can kneel. Can you do it? I

can do just about everything else but I cannot kneel. My doctor told me some

people can and some can not. I am still very scared to put my full weight down

on my new knees.
