Guest guest
I think that the stem was placed in the femur at a slant...incorrectly. (This is before an important 2nd opinion appt. and is just my best thinking at this point. We'll see.) So if that's right, I will probably need revision surgery. Questions: Who pays for this if it is within the first year? Will Medicare pay? Can it be done? I'm picturing digging out the first stem piece and replacing with a second. But the first one will have made a " hole " in the femure which is slanted incorrectly. So does the hole get filled in somehow? (Sorry if that's not exactly clear.) If you have had a revision surgery due to a bad outcome of a first THR, can you tell me about it? How was recovery? My surgery was on Dec. 8, 2009 ...about 2 months and 2 weeks I think. It hurts and I cannot put full weight on the operated side. I have been to the original surgeon, who says to wait. But it is not improving at all. There is zero progress. When I attempt to put full wieght on it, there is pain down the outside of my thigh. As well as in the joint itself. Thanks for any info
