Guest guest
That's really great Colleen! Forget the scale, forget the bodyfat testing, nothing feels better than putting on your " skinny " clothes and having them fit or be too loose. Yay for you! Get those pics up! Guest guest
Who cares what that scale says...it's all about the jeans baby!!! I haven't worn jeans in about 3 years. I can't wait to buy some REALLY cute, low rise ones..the ones that flare a bit at the bottom. Hopefully by fall..that's my goal. YEAH for you. Upload those pics as soon as you can. Great job!!! > I can't believe how things are really moving and changing now! Guest guest
Yay! Colleen, that is wonderful! I know you must be doin' your famous " Snoopy Dance " ) But, does anyone know WHY? if the scale doesn't move, measurements aren't changing much and body fat isn't a significant change, why do pants fit better? The same has happened to me and it has baffled me ) (not that baffling me is too hard to do LOL) Sunshine > > I can't believe how things are really moving and changing now! You give me so much hope!...the hope of getting my soccer legs back and into jeans that aren't " stretch " jeans!!! Congrats! You must be so psyched! Keep it up! Take care, > > Robin Dear Robin, try not to get too down because I think quite a few of us have gone through what you are going through....I know I certainly did. I was hungry (ravenous) a couple of days after the surgery and everything reminded me of food....and it does get you down when you cant eat eh I love eating and its amazing how much time can be taken up in the day concerning food....the buying...preparation and of course the enjoyment of eating. Its also amazing how many commercials that are about food...and I bet your suddenly noticing them more and more. Well (the above) is the bad news (and as Ive gone thru near enough what you have I will add a few comments) Things will definately get better and in my case it was when you can actually have food/soup etc I was obsessed terribly with food at the start...even food that I hated!!!!...just because it was food. But things will get better and slowly and surely you will lose the weight....the hunger pangs will lessen...trust me. Like yourself the drinks just went right thru me and I still felt hungry....its one of those things I guess...everyone is different. You just have to read some of the other posts from our wonderful members here to see that. Some have mega restriction and can hardly get anything down and some have none. Just hang in there and things will get better...it really will. What helped me was when I felt hungry to do something else....read...drive...wash the dishes...take the dog for a walk etc....anything to take my mind off the hunger...but like I said before (in my case and hopefully yours) as soon as I started eating soup and easily digestable food everything got better very quickly indeed Unfortunately the lapband is not a magic bullet but its definately a jump-start to a whole new way of life of healthier living Honestly in a few months when this is all behind you you will be thinking why you were so stressed out....you will look at yourself and see the pounds melting away and be increasingly happy at how better you feel. Dont forget that you're not alone in this...there is a great support base of people who have gone thru what you are going thru. Good luck regards, Ken
Guest guest
Robin, I just wante to say that the upper part is complete swelling and will eventuately go down, I'm very glad to see each day gets a little better, and I know three months out and I still miss food. Take Care, and keep us posted. Tracie B. Update on my progress Thanks to everyone who had some answers to my questions. Each problem I have had, seems to each be getting better each day. Guest guest
Robin and Tracie, Well, I have now done both of the big no-nos of the band! Last night (3 AM) I started gagging and threw up! No way to stop it either. I felt much better when done and actually got some sleep! I must have super restiction as I never feel water going through and it is a chore to even drink 1 bottle of water (500 ml) a day. I have found that ice cubes are great and, since I can't seem to get any calories in, frozen Otter Pops go down pretty good. I just crave water--not even flavored water right now. I hope the restriction loosens some shortly as I do have problems at night (PBing and vomiting)when there is nothing there! Maybe I won't have to get a fill so soon--hehehe. No real hunger pains yet but the food commercials are beginning to tempt me! I certainly hope I get to the full liquids before too much more temptation arrives. Update on my Progress Hi AllJust a little update for anyone interested and to give encourgaemnentto anyone needing it.I had my myotomy back in January and yesterday had my last check upand was formally discharged by the surgeon who did the op. I asked if there wasanything I should be wary of and he said no, also asked if theresanything i should do to try and stop any future problems or if thereis anything that will make it worse and got the same answers - soheres hoping folks.I will not vanish though and will pop up when I see I can help likeyou all helped me - it really is a great place to be for support onany level.AndyYorkshire, England
Guest guest
Dear Andy, Well, I for one am extremely interested to hear your news. Oh how I wish that more people who are doing well would keep reminding those who are new that it is not all bad news. I am sincerely pleased for you Andy. I share your happiness. You certainly deserve some after the year you have just had. I am very pleased that you will be staying around. Me too. They will have a bit of a job to get rid of the 2 of us, I reckon. LOL Viva La Vida (as would say) Enjoy your eating, but keep an eye on that little belly growing weekly. LOL Lots of love from Ann around the corner. Guest guest
Good. Keep us posted. Not sure which blood test you are referring to. Should the shipping time affect the blood samples in any way? I noticed that most websites insist that it be sent to the lab immediately for processing. On another note, it was good to read that Val and Mike are making excellent progress in their diagnosis and treatment.Keep up the good work guys. Guest guest
Hey All, I was supposed to see my surgeon last week, but he had to cancel, so I saw him today. I had bilateral knee replacements 12 weeks ago. I have been going to PT 3 times a week for 2 1/2 hours each visit. I have very little pain in my knees, although I do have a weird stiffness in my left knee that I mainly feel when going down stairs. However, my left knee is also my best as far as range of motion. I am at about 3 to 120 degrees with that knee. My right knee is at about 5 to 105 degrees. We have no idea why there would be such a disparity. I have done exactly the same exercises. He said he wished that he could just force the knee to bend more and break the probable adhesions. So he is recommending that I go to PT just once a week for about a month and continue with my exercise bike, etc. at home. Not sure if I will ever get more ROM on my right knee. Any thoughts? in PA Bilateral TKR - 7/22/2010 Left THR - 7/2007
