Guest guest
Yes Jeff, the surgery is about the same pain wise, but mine was a revision so I had been cut from the top of my shoulder almost down to me elbow., Along the inside of the arm, wish he did a little bat wing surgery as I have lost 75 lbs. !!! Where as the rotator cuff tear is no where near as long. Yes reverse shoulder is done for tendons that aren't repairable you end up learning to lift your arm with the triceps I think they said. And yes the PT did stuff it up, there was absolutely no need for him to push my arm right back over my head I have had no help from the owners of that business and they basically left me to sort it out myself. I have always done very very well with first joint replacements, being in the surf with hips and knees within 6 weeks etc. Its been the revisions of my shoulder and hip that have been the issues, my second ones never go well for some reason. My big issue now is do I go for a reverse with the next one straight up as I also had tendon repair on that shoulder before I had it replaced, I don't think I have symptoms though but when they get in there you never know what they will find., I guess a scan will show what state its in., I don't want to go through all this again 4 shoulder surgeries in 11 months -- Re: 's story for Jeff , Thanks, not boring at all. The reverse shoulder is what my os is talking about as the tendon can not be stretched back to fix properly. I've had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders already so I know how painful it is. My understanding of what you are saying is that the first replacement was a problem due to the pt, but that it's not much worse overall than the rotator cuff surgery. Thanks, Jeff
